Anybody running an A-833 behind a GIII?

I emailed Jamie Passon hes really excited about the 5 speed .. please keep us posted .. As for me Using an 18 spline cast iron ...and a Lakewood bell housing

cool thread thanks for the update realwing on the Passon 5 speed, it's great to see someone "actually has one finally"

How does the shift pattern work; is 1st under Reverse? If so, does the shifter box have to be modified?

Curious minds must know.

That looks like it only fits an A body.

So the question I have is how much has to be cut off the shaft of the 833 tranny?

I think it's 3/4 inch. Check over on FABO, those guys will know for sure!!!!

I dont know if I can do it. I built an 18 spline and had to replace the input shaft. I really dont wanna cut it. If in the future I decide to go with a 5/6 speed I would want to sell the hemi box. Im standing right next to my 6.1 crank as I write this. Looking at it I think I could drill the hole a little deeper

Then you might need to re-balance the crank, which shouldn't be a big deal.

Its getting balanced anyway. Wiseco pistons (9:1) are back ordered. Eta of three weeks. Got a killer deal on a set of carrillo rods. Need to get a flywheel and then it all goes to get balanced. After I figure out the pilot hole of course

I have had one behind my blown 6.1 stroker for some time.
The shaft had to be trimmed the mentioned 7/8 of an inch.
Biggest issue I had was with my blow proof bellhousing
I had to trim a bit of the flange on the passenger side.
Drivers side fit nice and easy.
No issues at all.

Other that that no drama

One what? 833? What rear end gear do you have? What rpm on the highway?

Well, it a blown 426 running 18psi and about 900 rwhp
So mpg wasn't really in my equation when built
I enjoy it very much though
