The 69 looks like Citron Yella but it could be Sublime?:eusa_wall:

I recall they used more than one car, so perhaps that explains why some images are more yellow and others more sublime. Not an expert by any means, but I've seen the movie many times and own the 2005 release. Guess I'll have to watch it again over the holidays ! Cheers.

from the link.....

The color of the Charger is a 1971-only Chrysler Corporation color "Curious Yellow" / "Limelight" (GY3), which is a light greenish-yellow color. This color was painted on the car by the film crew (as the color was not available in 1969), along with the horizontal racing stripe.

Many fans of the film swear to the yellow color of the car, but this is an easy error to make:

All the color books say for 1970 J-5 is SubLime for dodge and limelight for Plymouth and not available 1971 for 1971 Y-3 is Citron Yella for dodge and Curious Yellow for Plymouth

I watched that movie since it was in the theater and again and avai over the years. it was that car that made me fall in love with with MOPARs

It's yellow and n
I'm not changing.

I have that film on DVD...I have to admit that it has been a while since watching it...not sure how many have seen the movie Fear is the Key with Barry Newman...talk about your all time chase scene..some reason that film is tied up in Great Britian...must totally be the Scot author Alistar MacLean angle

If someone does not yet know or it has not yet been clarified: The color of the Charger is "Curious Yellow" / "Limelight" (GY3), which is a light greenish-yellow color. This color was painted on the car by the film crew (as the color was not available in 1969), along with the horizontal racing stripe. Actually, the reason the car is remembered as yellow (Y2) is because it WAS yellow in theaters and all film and video releases until the 2005 DVD... and that is because the film processors back in 1974 'corrected' the color of the film, not realizing the greenish tint they were seeing was NOT a lighting error. Only the DVD release of 2005, the 2011 re-release and the 2015 blu-ray special edition show the car in its proper "Citron Yella" (not 'Limelight') hue. Those that swear the car was greenish yellow in the theatre are mistaken.

Curious yellow Y3 is Citron Yella. Limelight is J5 which is a totally different color. I think it is a custom mix by the Hollywood studios

There were three Chargers used in the film, only one survived. IMDB says two survived. They crashed the 68 car into the train, and the explosives didn't go off,so the next day they did take two with the 69 SE and got the shot. The one sitting in the backyard in California is the only one that survived.

There wer 3 Chargers used and one was a 68 as you can clearly see the round taillights in one chase seen. Now once and for all "Curious Yellow" Dodge color and "Citrion Yella" Plymouth color are both "y3" I just painted my 69 RT Charger this color and it is neon yellow in the sun and very green in the shade, it totally changes color. This accounts for the debate is it green or yellow, answer- it's both. I love this color on my Charger.
