Preparing for Hibernation

My new parking area is a former Chicken Barn that holds about 90 vehicles. It gets no colder than -4c even in the coldest Canadian Winter.I can also access the car during the winter to take pieces off (smaller parts like the wing and wiper motor) to work on over winter. Nice price and only about 20 mins. away

Over inflating the tires is essential to help preventing flat spots. We had customers that would put opened bags of charcoal, (not the matchlight kind) in there Porsches that got stored every fall though winter. The Styrofoam is also a good idea. Try to have the wipers not contacting the glass is also helpful.

Not sure how much of automotive fuel you have in your tank, but do yourself (an your fuel system) a favor and drain the tank then put at least 10 gallons of AV (Aviation) gas in it....usually 100 octane and ethanol free....and run the car for a bit so all the AV gas gets through the system and you will not have any ethanol related problems in the spring.....no need for any fuel stabilizers. You will see it will also run a lot better when you take it out in the spring.....

Can someone show me what I'm looking for? (Cowl Drains)

The air intake for your heater is located in the cowl, which is between your hood and windshield. Rodents can get in and make nests ....

I was lucky...my Cordoba sat on a cement floor for 8 years straight, then on jack stands for 2 straight years (I know that's a bad combo). All the tires are fine. No noticeable flat spots when driving. Changed out fuel, rebuilt carb, all fluid changed and she fired up nice.

Some sick joke says we could get a 1/2 foot or so of snow on Monday. I'll be buttoning up my Belvedere and scooting it over to my buddy's in the morning for the long winter. This has to be the shortest time I've had it out of storage since the spring was so late this year.:angry8:

Actually I topped it off with premium and I use Stabil. I had no issues last year with the same treatment, started first crank. We don't have forced ethanol usage up here.

That's right...in Ontario we have up to 10% ethanol in regular grade gas only. Premium in most brands are ethanol free. Unfortunately, Petro Canada's Ultra 94 does contain ethanol and any Petro Canada stations that have Ultra 94 mixes that ethanol blend to make their premium grades. Saying that, Petro Canada stations that do not sell Ultra 94 will still have the ethanol free premium.
