As some of you may know, this 63 Polara restoration project started Nov 2009.
At that time:
The 440 engine was dropped off at "Dale's Place", Baldwin Park, So Cal
Dale Reed did the 440 up as a Max Wedge, complete with A&A cross ram and Edelbrock carbs.
Bob Mazzolini Racing in Riverside CA found me a 1965 Torqueflight 727 (the best and last year early style for a push-button)
The services of the "Tyn-Man", yes the elusive sheet metal GURU out of Michigan handcrafted me a "Original Style" scoop.

And of course the Body was delivered to "Phoenix Auto-body" in California City, CA, where the Polara sat in various stages of "paint-shop-priison" until August 2013, the day I pulled it out.
All total, I lost $5,800 dollars for body work and paint AND another $1,200 for the paint, clear-coat and hardener which I purchased.
That is $6,500 total.

And, sadly, Phoenix Autobody in Calif-City LOST my fender data plate on top of everything else.
I have come to accept that certain people are just plain BAD.

So, here we are now:
11 November 2014.

At a new facility, and they are letting me do lot's of "hands on work", a great "Business" approach in this economy.

Body prepped for media blasting:
NOTE: I just ordered a new trunk pan from Auto Metal Direct. (AMD)

This afternoon, Veterans Day 2014, I deliver it to "Pacific Powder Coating", Palmdale CA for media blasting to bare metal and then primer.

BEST to you S-B-S!!! Looks like a good project and with AMD, your always ahead, sometimes broke lol, but truly ahead of the game...

awesome Bee. That sucks that the other place did u wrong. Here's hopin that everything goes smoothly here on out pal. It's going to be a great looking ride when all done.

seems like many of us get screwed when we give something near and deer to us to someone else to accomplish what we don't have the time and or skills to do. I wish people actually cared about other peoples property and realize what it means to people. A family heirloom passed down from generations, a rare find, finally finding that car you've always wanted and now it's yours. Unbelievably no one seems to give a **** about someone else or their property these days. Sorry, Very cool and very solid looking car. I will be watching this one and the progress you make.

1963 Dodge Polara back from Media Blast and Primer (Epoxy Direct Metal Primer)

I picked it up from Pacific Coast Powder Coating Thursday 18 December 2014, 4PM.
Found some "hidden"damage, Left front fender (Old school fix) and rust in the trunk pan.
I purchased a Trunk Pan from AMD...it arrived and the quality is excellent.
See pic #15 (Last pic)
Pics 13 & 14 show the insidious rust damage that was hiding under trunk pad.
NOTE: This is a Desert Car all it's life but even these "Desert cars" CAN develop rust under the correct conditions.

Im happy with the process, media strip to bare metal.
