Well, I got my motor back. I noticed the bolts on the intake were loose so I started to tighten them up. Didn't happen, they just spun around and around. I pulled one out and the bolt was too short. I pulled the valley pan and found aluminum shavings all inside a freshly rebuilt motor that I spent 9k on. I am freaking pissed. I installed the motor and was hoping to get it up and running this weekend. For those of you who don't know I was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer; and was hoping to do some cruising before I am under the knife. So, I called the builder; he said "bring it back". Like that was easy!!!!!!
Anyway, got the motor pulled by myself loaded in the pickup and hauled it back.

Hopefully, I will get it back in a day or two so I can get this beast back on the road.

That's a crappy deal to say the least. Good luck.

That sucks... I can feel you pain.

How was the oil pressure?

What is aluminum in the motor besides the pistons?

You'll probably need a oil pump and the bearings are probably roached.

Good luck with the cancer and the car.

Ouch! I hope you get the engine back soon and all fixed. Good luck with both, motor and cancer. Fight that crap!

Tell him your situation and tell him to make it right. Is the builder anywhere close to you?

On the cancer side - you'll beat it. I'm 100% confident that you will come out on top of this but with a new fresh look on life. My wife was diagnosed in 2006 and in 2011 and beat it twice - and I look at life totally different now. Don't heasitate to hit me up if you need to offload some of your thoughs about it. Bbodies are here for you!

The shavings were just laying on top, fortunately the motor was not started. I went to the builders shop and inspected it after it was all torn down. The cylinder walls were ok, I made him pull the oil pan just to be sure. He had to put a helix coil in the edelbrock rpm heads where the threads were stripped out. My thoughts are one of the young apprentices that work there made a bad mistake. The good part, he will make it right. I just hate pulling a motor and 4 speed I installed by myself. I know I am getting too old to do this by myself. Thanks for all the support.

Glad he took care of it. I know the feeling of pulling things you've installed yourself. I had a intake for my gen 3 hemi ported and when I got it back the oil plate on the bottom of it was put back. never inspected it. Installed it on my freshly installed 419 stroker and started it up... well, they didn't do that good of cleaning the ported intake and there were shavings all over the place. Engine out - rebuild - engine back. :/
