I'm building a 66 Plymouth 318 Poly and looking for a 4brl intake manifold, preferably with the carb.
Cast iron or aftermarket alum. I'd appreciate any info on where to look or whom to call.
Also, are headers available?

65 was the last year for the poly. if your motor is an la318 I have a 4bbl. manifold for sale it's posted w picts on FBBO check out the gasket pattern for the intake. the manifold is an Edelbrock street master 318

If you plan on changing only manifold and headers go with cast iron single 4 or the new chrysler power one. Chrysler power manifold (should) give you better flow if you do more work on the engine down the road but should also work with a stock motor.

66 was last year for poly, 67 in Canada.

I found a `62 manifold for my `66 by searching all of Craigslist. I ended up making a deal with a guy in Indiana...sent him a check that included shipping costs. Once my check cleared he shippped it to me.

Plug in "poly 318 intake manifold" on http://www.searchcraigslist.org/ . It searches all of Craigslist.

Whom ever you get one from, MAKE SURE THEY PACKAGE IT WELL! My guy put it in a box (loosely) and when I got it a corner...think 5" triangle...was busted off. Luckily it was not through any coolant passages and living in farm country, I was able to get the cast iron welded back together. A little grinding and paint and it looks great.

You may have to search it several times over the course of a couple months, but you will find them. Good luck!

Take it from someone that has a lot of time and money invested in a Poly 318, get in touch with Gary Pavlovich in California, 619-572-3008, he can tell you how to order the new 4bbl intakes for that engine and for headers, TTI is the only way to go for a Poly.

Mho tti is it. On a side note, I met Barns Daniels from the Ramchargers a few weeks ago. he was the A block guy and he is still into these motors. Good luck with the project.

Having a `66 Belvedere myself, I have concerns as to the height of this new manifold to be produced (in photos, it looks tall). I'm currently using the cast iron intake, a 1" phenolic spacer - per Gary's recommendation, under an Edelbrock carb. To get clearance with the hood I used a 3" Spectre filter with a 1 1/2" dropped base. So the base would clear the fuel line fitting, choke solenoid, and linkage, I had to install a 1/2" spacer under a dropped filter base. The retainer on top has made a divot in the hood insulation. There is probably less than a 1/2" between it and the hood. I could go to a 1/2" spacer under the carb, but Gary said he saw the best results with a 1" spacer.

As for the TTi parts, I got the headers and complete exhaust from ModernMusclePerformance.com . Dave and Chris sold everything to me for $150 less than anybody else! Don't let their website fool you. They deal in parts for older cars as well as newer cars.

Just some personal trials and tribulations to share with the group.

From emails in the poly yahoo group about height of new intake:
Poly 2bbl. intake w/2bbl. carb is 8 5/8” (8.625”) tall from deck of block.
Weiand Poly 4bbbl. intake w/Edelbrock Carb is 7 7/8” tall from deck of block.
NEW Wind Tunnel intake with Holley or Edelbrock carb is 9 1/4” (9.250) tall
from deck of block or 5/8” (.625”) taller than a stock Poly 2bbl. intake &
carb

TTI's on my 64 Belvedere "Poly" All stock internals but I installed a Weiand intake and a 600 Edelbrock.Electronic ignition too. What a huge difference in performance.

I have a dual quad set up for a Poly - Also just found a 4bbl intake with original carb if you're interested.

Innnnn - correct. 1966 was the last yer for the Poly engines in the USA, 1967 Canada

Chrysler Power has an intake for sale, brand new aluminum, at a hefty price.
Headers by TTI can also be purchased through Chrysler Power at a discounted rate. They also have cams, you must provide a core.
