What do you say when asked "Do a Burnout"?

Seeing as how I am 51 going on 16 I check for cops and civilians and if all is clear hammer on it. :headbang:

If it's not in my immediate neighborhood I always do them. I do burnouts all the time. it's more fun if someone is watching. I get a little over zealous when I'm showing off for someone.

You should remember the burnout you do in front of some kids is going to be a lasting memory in their minds and they will be the next generation car guys or girls. I was in my '66 Corvette convertible at an intersection. A kid had his nose glued the window looking at the car. When the light turned green I left slowly then lit them up in second, right in front of a cop leaving Quick Trip. He followed me for awhile then pulled me over. Didn't get a ticket.

BURN EM !!!all the time, every time.i built this car to have fun and i am gonna!i do manage a large auto repair/tire retail store,so i get em cheep.

All great stories fellas! Kinda got my blood boiling now after reading them so I wanna do a smoke show in front of my house to remark my territory. Yesterday not a snow flake anywhere, would have been a perfect opportunity...today 4 inches of snow!!:angry1:

Amen, hook a brotha up.

Burnouts are what make us special. I'm pretty sure a smokey burnout could turn any gay man (ricersssss) straight. Lets get their attention and have them hooked on muscle cars. It's our signature.

My smokey burnout after our school won our game and was going to states.

If you watch mid way through the fire marshal pulls out. I was expecting to get pulled, he drove by with the biggest grin and gave me a thumbs up.

If I'm spinning my wheels, I'm not going anywhere.

Used to do burnouts with my Cummins powered pickup but now that it's in need of a new set of gears, I don't do them anymore lol. But yeah, depends on the situation and if it's safe. My yard cart 95 V6 Dakota has no problem lighting up the one wheel peel but the 10.50-31's on the back are hard as a rock and it will smoke like crazy. With the straight pipe, you know it's not a V8 and most are surprised that it will do that.

Funny you should mention the pickup truck burnouts. Back when I was a young buck the kids in town would always hang out at the main intersection in town with they're "cool cars" parading them around like they were something special but I put them all to shame and turned some heads with my ol 460, 4:11 posi,, 11' flat bed, 79 Ford F350 dually! I would come around that intersection (4 way) and about halfway into the turn I'd nail it and get all 4 rears going but once it started to slide you could just feather the pedal and keep it sliding for quite a ways, allot of shocked faces watching a 20' dually lighting them up haha. Never got pulled over in it though

Dudes, burnouts make the world a better place. Withhold not the burnout, dudes, withhold not the burnout.

Only at the track for me. If I got caught by the cops doing this where I live I'd probably be in for a trip to jail and an impounded car.

Tires aren't cheap, so I usually ignore them :icon_neutral:

However, I remember this one time when a bunch of kids in an SRT4 were just constantly yelling at me to do a burnout in my 29 coupe :icon_confused:

I ignored them for a bit, but then one of the guys hanging out the back window yelled out "come'on light'em up man!!"

I turned to him and asked "Did you say light'em up??"

Then I lit the burners and nearly singed his eyebrows off!! :laughing1:

Light turned green and I left them in a cloud of smoke :icon_cool:

when I was 21-ish some time ago....LOL
I was getting lubricated a little with my neighborhood car buddies,
innocent stuff, not drunk, drinking/sharing a Dinkelacker Draft mini 2 ltr keg {spelling ?}
{I don't condone doing it either}
I was visiting at my parents house when they lived in Antioch Ca.,
I am friends with all of the neighbors & their children,
I pulled my 68 Charger R/T down the street, started to do a small burnout,
that turned into a, 300+ ft smoke show !!
Everyone all screaming & yelling & pointing, towards me,
me being the cool cat I am...LOL, I gave them the big thumbs up & continued to lite them up,
all the way down to the stop sign at the end of the street...

While turning around, going back to park my car,
I saw a neighbor Guy Hildger {who's house I started the burnout at},
who just so happens to also be a Contra Costa County Sheriff too...

He came straight over to me, gave me a death grip handshake, pulled me towards him
he said
"nice one, really impressive, but not the best thing to do in-front of someone's house,
who writes tickets for a living",
I said
"yeah I'm just showing off, you know me",
he then said
"yeah OK, keep the keys in your pants the rest of the day son"...
then he was walking back out of my smoke trails, still lingering, back to his home...
All my friends cracking up/laughing at me, saying "they tried to warn me"...

We still talk about that day, among a few of my friends,
I was thinking the absolute worse, but got really lucky...
It wasn't the smartest thing to do, obviously...He he ha ha

He was a pretty cool guy, his wife & my mom were good friends &
I taught his son allot about cars, even helped him out a couple times too...

end of story

If it's young boy I will usually do it. If it's an adult I tell them to get a car!
KID

Mine won't burn em! Even with the 383 and 4:11 gears. I don't even have to think about it.

Yet!

Do what? :urkidding:

You can't even coax some smoke with a brake torque?
