Well I posted about a week ago on a 1969 Coronet 440 I was looking at. I ended up making a trade and am pretty happy with the car. I have always been a fan of Chrysler products and this will be my first Dodge project car.

Nice score! I'm kinda biased.

The first things I know I will need is a new carburetor, wheels/tires, and radiator.

The car has a 383 4 barrel setup currently but the carburetor is pretty much toast. I am thinking of going with the Holley 0-80508SA - Holley 750 cfm Carburetor

The radiator I will more than likely go with a aluminum radiator. I am still doing research on the best one for me. I will need to pick up a shroud also.

The wheels I am on the fence between going for bassett or crager ss wheels. On the back I want to go very wide possibly up to 295 unless this would cause fitment issues.

I Photoshoped the 2 and was hoping to get your thoughts if you have time. My Photoshop skills suck so hopefully you can see what I was going for.
I am partial to the Bassett wheels because I plan to go with an a12 hood eventually.

I like them both, but the Cragar wheels stand out more.

295 50 15's. Fit good. Very slight kiss of the leaf spring inside left tire but only on Track day at Willow Springs. One time.

8 inch Summit rims. Purchased mounted and balanced.

I left the 225 70 14's up front. Thinking of going to 15's. Drivability is perfect now.

It looks like you scored a nice ride young99! I would go with the Cragars, but do what you want to do with the wheels.

nice car 99. I have owned several mopars over the last 40 or so years but the coronet is still my favorite one. good luck. john

Nice ride. Once you go MOPAR it's hard to go back. Good luck with the project.

Would you mind posting a close up picture of the dealer decal on the deck lid? These are always a nice finishing touch to a restoration if you can find an original from the dealer the car was purchased from.

Merry Christmas!!

Here is a pic of the dealer sticker. I just googled the dealer, the name seems to still be around.

Has anyone ever produced an aftermarket/reproduction 4 barrel air grabber that would work with the a12 hood/383 engine? just by the looks of it a RR air grabber looks very similar but never seen the actual size of the 2.

I like the Cragars. I had those on mine but wanted 15s front and back. Now I have American Racing Torque Thrust II.

FRONT: 235 60 15 SR BFG Radial T/A RWL on 8" wheels
BACK: 295 50 15 SR BFG Radial T/A RWL on 10" wheels

In the current condition of the body and paint I'd go with Bassett rims over the Cragars. Of course I don't mind the Magnums that are on it now.
By the way, cool car. I like it!

well I got the Wheels, Tires, Fan Shroud, and Lugs ordered. Ill post some pics as soon as they come in.

I swapped the carb over to a 625 Demon but waiting on the Chrysler kick-down to come in. Neat looking carb fired right up was really surprised. Looking forward to getting it on the road.

I have a question I am hoping to get some help with. I want to remove the rear window trim to check for any damage because I know they are prone to rust here. I started by taking the bottom off but noticed there were no clips at all on the bottom curved piece. Is this normal? I was expecting some type of clips but it was just glued with very thick rubber/gasket. I was only able to get one side off the other side is being a pain to get off. Is there any ticks to loosening the rubber up so it can come off without taking a risk of bending the piece? also I am guessing there will be clips on the top and sides?

Thanks!

Would a 15x8 wheel with 4" backspace work with this 69 coronet? Going with 295 on back and 235 on front
