IMHO I'm getting a bit tired of the politically correct Happy Holidays to replace Merry Christmas. This is Christmas and that's our culture. To politicise it is unacceptable. I haven't even met anyone from another culture or religion that is offended by saying Merry Christmas.

What is the 'official' greeting in your neck of the woods?

For the most part of heard more Merry Christmases this year than happy holidays... You can rest assured if you give me a "Happy Holidays" in return you get a "Merry Christmas"
 
Aloha, In Hawaii we say Mele Kalikimaka or Merry Christmas in Hawaiian.
 
I agree with all that's said. It's funny, I know a lot of Jewish people that I didn't know that they were. And talking to them about this, they have no problem with people saying Merry Christmas to them as it's all about the holidays and not any one holiday in particular as they are all the same. MERRY CHRISMAS EVERYBODY!

Merry Christmas of course ! The problem is society has let the loud mouth, minority squeaky wheels get oiled constantly. Pretty soon all of what used to be frowned upon will be normal. I for one do not oil those squeaky wheels, if Merry Christmas offends then don't buy a tree or decorate your house But you will not stop me from doing it !!! A bit off subject, but I was pissed during Halloween because my 6yr old son was not allowed to dress up in school because there was some kids that did not participate in Halloween. WTF ! so because of a small group you make the majority that do enjoy the costumes and fun suffer ?? Now im pissed again just thinking about it ! ...... MERRY CHRISTMAS FABO !!!
 
Funny you asked. In previous years it has been Happy Holidays. This year, with more political hype than I've ever heard, everyone seems to be saying Merry Christmas just to stick it to the ones that don't believe. Even the India guy running the local gas station has been useing it!

I feel like the happy holidays crap is subsiding. Everyone I know hates it, Christians and Jews alike. I'm Christian and celebrate Christmas with, in addition to many Christians, 2-3 Jews. To my Christian family and friends, it's merry Christmas. To my Jewish friends it's happy (belated) Chanukah.
 
merry christmas is all i know and all i will ever say! i respect others who say happy holidays,but i do not agree with it.

Exactly. I use whichever greeting applies, whether its my Christian or Jewish friends. And, so.. a Happy Chanukah or Merry Christmas to all !!
