Im ready to purchase an Electric fan and an engine fan for my Big block in my 68 B body. I wanna run both fans. The Radiator opening is 22" and will most likely run a fan shroud. Just wondering where everyone got their fans from and if their doin the job.. I picked up a painless 185 degree on sending unit.. Thanks

You trying to pull or push air through the radiator. Eather way do not think a shroud will do much good. Would run 2 smaller fans rather than 1 large one, stacked top and bottom.

A 3 core radiator with a fan shroud and the 18 thermal clutch fan will cool your ride just fine. So this begs the question.....why do you think you need an electric fan also?

I thought the electric fan would help in traffic, but i've been looking into the fan shroud idea and if it worked from the factory it should work just fine cooling the big block. If i were to mount it id most likely mount in front of the radiator so it pushes the air.

Do your self a favor and get a 26in radiator with a fan shroud and clutch fan. Electrical fan is overkill

I was dicking around with a 22 in radiator, no shroud and a clutch fan. I also have a sizable electric fan mounted to the front of my rad to cool my auxiliary trans cooler. Even with this setup, it wasn't enough to cool in stop and go traffic.

The moment I switched to the 26in rad with shroud, it solved my problems. I'm convinced I would have been fine with the 22 in rad but I couldn't find a shroud that fit for the diameter of my clutch fan.

Fyi , I have a 68 RR with 440 trips.

Did you enlarge the core support when you went with the 26" radiator?

It depends on the CFM of the electric fan. I have a 440 bored 60 over and live in Phoenix on a 10 degree day in stop and go traffic I get hot real quick. I have a 2800 CFM fan hooked to a toggle switch and the fan cools the engine down to 195 degrees in no time. Higher the CFM the more air it moves. You might not need as high of one that I have.

I bought a radiator based on recommendation from a few people on this forum. I can vouch for the quality and the fitment. Made by Engineered cooling products. Customer service was good too. Any questions I had, they responded quickly. Stock mopar shroud fit perfectly too. At $249, it was worth it. Here's a link to their eBay store.

I wish you'd posted that link a week ago. I ordered a Champion Radiator... would rather have that one!

Nothing wrong with using an electric fan back-up as thats what I do. I use a stock type flex fan and a shroud that I modified to fit as its from a Dakota V/6 truck. I have an Afco aluminum rad and I have the electric fan in front of the rad as pusher and its on a toggle switch. I dont use it in normal traffic but if I sit in traffic on 95 degree and hotter days I will turn it on to keep it at 190 and lower. It will creep up to 200 on real hot days in traffic if I have to sit for a good bit and I dont like it at 200 so the backup fan brings it down and keeps it around 185 to 190 on super hot days in traffic. Its nice to have it when sitting in traffic for a bit. You can see a little bit of it in this pic. Ron

Wizard Cooling, 4 row aluminum with 26 inch shroud. Add yourself a six blade Hemi Clutch fan and your going to be really happy. The measure the distance the back of impeller is to body of pump and make sure it is no more than .60 thousands from the pump body. If your still thinking you need additional the go to junk yard and find a mercedes S class 2 speed fanshround from a Coupe. Mounter under car facing up.

Just run what you want and put in Evan's waterless coolant and not have to worry about electric fans.

Your engine combo has a lot to do with your cooling needs. I use a 4 row copper with 2 pusher fans because there is no room for an engine fan. In bumper to bumper traffic it might go as high as 200 on a 90* day. I am looking into an aluminum 3 row for the weight savings. What is your engine combo, compression ratio and HP level?

I'm running a BeCool radiator with 24" pushing fan plus the engine fan. Electric fan on thermostat and the only time it kicks in is idling in the garage lol..Custom shroud

Well instead of my puny brain trying to describe how it works here is the link. I have not put it through the summer time pase's yet since just installing it last month and now doing more engine work but the first run around the city out here proved pretty cool no pressure build up and temps never went past 200 hovered around 180-195°

What I am getting at is we all try so hard to find the right combo for cooling our engine builds it' like fighting a battle, so Why even fight when you can win the war out of the gate? I feel this stuff allows you to run what ever radiator you want, a massively overpriced becool or a desert cooler or a cheap *** champion and a clutch fan or flex flan or just electric fans. it now is just a matter of your wants and look.

Check it out you decide for yourself, I think it's worth the money since you will never have to replace it or service it. It will never break down like the additives in todays 50/50 mix, no more having to add water wetter or royal purple stuff to have peace of mind etc.
