I'm trying to figure out what a reasonable cost to have the seat covers installed on my 69 RR. Keep in mind I'm providing the bucket seat and rear seat covers and new front seat foam. I've already rebuilt the frames and seat tracks fyi. I would also need to have the headrest mounting hardware installed too. What would be a reasonable cost for doing this? Everything is legendary brand if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I think I paid $600 to have exactly this done minus the headrests for my 67 GTX. I had pulled the old material and had given him new powder coated springs. Some minor spring support and all rear seat foam redone from scratch. 30 year upholstery guy that worked out of his garage for cash only. YMMV

Just had the seats done with Legendary in my '66 Coronet. $450. I removed and disassembled the seats as opposed to leaving the whole car.

I got a quote of $500.00 to do my 65 satellite 2 buckets and back seat + headliner

Thanks for the help guys, I was just quoted $800 to do the job. That seemed kinda high considering I am supplying all the seat covers as well as front bucket foams.

Do it yourself, its not hard ! I had a buddy blast and powdercoat my front and rear frames, then I did the covering. Don't rush it and pay attention to what your hog ringing ! I would not pay that much money, especially if I was supplying the materials. Give it a shot, you might surprise yourself !

It really depends on the condition of the seat frames, springs, etc...and the seat foam as well...........you could save a little money by removing the old covers....then you would have an idea of the condition of the foam and the frame itself and at that point if the frame needs repair, repainting, etc...you can then decide if you want to do it yourself or have the shop do it....at least they would be able to see the condition of the frame and foam and give you a more precise cost.

I supplied the new covers and front seat buns and the frames after I cleaned and painted them, and I got mine done for $450, plus the guys I took them to also installed new shoddy type pad between the springs and the seat foam fronts and rears so the foam doesn't get eaten by the springs, and they also supplied all of the rear bench seat foam. I think they did a real nice job on them and was happy to know they were done properly and no issues.

Here is what they looked like before installation.

Yikes...

I had no idea it was going to cost so much to have someone put on the covers.

I have a full set for my car and planned on sending them over to be put on once the frames were all ready, but I think I might do this myself. I've done a set of 65 Mustang covers, and these are a little tougher...but I'm willing to gamble the $400-$600 to try.

I did the rear bench on mine which is considerably easier than the buckets, but it was a great experience. I intend to do the buckets myself as well.

I called all of the shops where i am located and the average cost is $700 for the work i had mentioned.

I paid $700 two years ago to do my RR seats, bench front and rear, after I supplied all the material and restored the frames.

most shops are around 60-75 dollars an hour. w hg $50 Check us out n Facebook. Car Crazy Interior's jeff

If you haven't had then done already, I strongly recommend you do them yourself. I did mine on my 72 and it turned out great without ever picking up hog ring pliers before. As others have said all you need to do is take your time and make sure they are centered which is not as hard as it sounds. I had a lot of fun doing it and I get to say I did my seats myself. If you want to make sure the springs don't eat the foam, hog ring some burlap around the springs and felt around the outside wires. I think will be pleasantly surprised how easy it really is.

I did my rear seats myself and it's really not hard to do. All you need are some wire cutters to cut off the old hog rings and new rings and pliers. There are lots of videos on YouTube that show how to do it.

I just had mine done 73 charger $200.00 in arkansas... They were takin apart already, and new skins put on.... I put um back togeather ofcource.....

They're not hard to do. I can't believe so many people have so many problems with these. I did my first interior on a numbers matching hemi car when I was 17. It still looks great today, 30 years later.
