I have a 71 / 340 roadrunner I'm putting a 383 in , do I simply just put small block mounts on the 383?

No you will need 66-72, 383 or 440 mounting brackets. If not worn out the rubber mount is the same.

It won't reach the trans. I have a 383/hd727 from a 71 fury in a 71 /340 roadrunner

AreAre you using the RR transmission support? The mounts are the same but I do not think the supports are. How much is it off?

use big bolck moumts on engine trans mount is the same

Do not think a new transmission mount will solve the problem? Can you post a picture of what you have installed?
