Can anyone tell me the best way to mark and drill the holes for the hood pins... Any tricks? Don't want to end up punching holes blindly but I'm having a hard time thinking how I'm going to mark the center points from underneath.

Or maybe someone knows where I might find the dimensions for the hole placement?

Thanks

Multiple posts recently on this same question . . . one posted the following link . . .

Good luck with your install !

Your hood also very likely has holes already drilled/stamped in the bracing... in the proper location.

That hole should line up with a spot on the fender bracing or core support that is large enough to provide a pin mounting hole.

Why not place your pins under your hood in the spot where you need them. Then, place a drop of paint or grease on the top of the pin. Lower you hood very slowly until it just touches the pins. It will mark the hood where the hold should be drilled. Drill the hood from underneath. Just my $.02

What he said. although the hole will actually need to be a little farther back because of the angle the hood closes. Start with small bits. I had to use a burr bit on a die grinder to oblong the holes in the hood brace because of that. You can always take a rubber mallet and coax the pins in the right location after they are tightened if needed.20141124_175341.jpg
