Distributor detailing

Just wondering what anyone has done to detail their distributor. Mines kinda tarnished. I cant decide between painting the housing black or a nice silver. Dont want it to look tacky. Any pics or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
 
I stripped mine on the outside of the body in my blast cabinet, then blew it out real good with air and clear coated it. Yes..... then I disassembled it to clean the inside better and rebuilt it. I may have a pic . I'll look.
