I have been reading about Virgil Exner and that for 1962 Chrysler modified his original B-Body concepts into what Exner famously dubbed "plucked chickens".

Does anybody have any links to images of models, sketches or plans of Exners original concepts?

Found this fury pic somewhere.
Haven't really seen any of the pre plucked pictures ,so I'd be interested in seeing some too!

Exners quotes were for the full sized Chryslers. The tailfins from the late 50's were going out of style, the '62 models were basically '61s with the fins shaved off. Hence his comment.

My dad was a Chrysler stylist. He started in 1958. Shortly there after he was tagged to refresh the look of the B-Body's.
The stipulation was that the fender/door had to fit the existing outer cowl shape at the A-pillar. The 63 Plymouth was his first big design used. After that the 64 Plymouth. He also designed the "Fratzog" triangular shaped Dodge emblem. I have some 63 concept pictures on my other computer. I'll try and post them later.

This picture is a modern day chop by casey/artandcolour,. He does all makes and it is worth looking at 1961 Fury also! Good stuff!

Tell us more. We love the History, it could be lost if not shared. Fan of the Fratzog too. Did he mention working with Herlitz or Brownlie?
