I added a new top end kit last summer (Edelbrock RPM, Intake, 285 Xtreme Energy Cam with .545 lift, MSD ignition + Distributor but I stuck with my 3310 Holley 750 carb.

Been looking at a Holler 4150 Street Avenger 870 CFM with electric choke but not knowing much about these things I am trying to decide if it is waste of money or a good inverstment for $421.

Any thoughts?

What about room under the hood for a spacer?
What is the goal? Street driver, drag, demo derby..
Hey, just kidding about that last one!

Don't do it. Worst carb Holley ever made. Better off to get a 3310 series if you are going Holley route.

I have no choke now so warm up is a pain in the rear. I have had float issues in the past, none since the rebulild kit was installed. I am looking for something that is a little crisper response off idle. This is a street only application but I do like to show out as I pulled over 2 weeks ago for 82 in a 35 on Sunday morning while people were in church. Thank god for small town politics and police that you know.

I made the room under the hood when adding the higher intake using a Ford racing breather bottom to go with my MOPAR performance breather.

Quickfuel 850 SS.......

this car is not a race application, how are these on the street? Also noticed they are pretty pricey

So do you have a real reason for needing a bigger carb or just thinking you need one? An engine is just a pump on the intake side I see no increase in the pump size. The change in cam size only allows more mixture in a given time but will not increase the volume required to fill the cylinder. So to put it in simple terms has there been a change in CFMs of mixture required?

I just sold my 870 Avenger, wasn't really happy with it and it was super lean out of the box. Once I got it dialed in (88 mains, 6.5 power valve) it was a nice street carb but just didn't provide the performance I wanted So now I'm running a Demon 850 DP. As far as cfm goes it's all in the rpms your expecting to run.

if all you want to do is drive and the 3310 works good then just keep it. bad thing about those holley type 4bbls is there's nothing between the 750 and 850. the 800dp is just an over rated 780 vacuum carb. not much to choose from.

My cam spec rpms are 2500-6200. You know I am always clearing this thing out when cruising town, may be more fuel is not really a good or needed thing.

Electric choke and vacuum secondaries.........Their not considered a race carb. You'd have to go with a Q series to go that far. Just with anything performance, you get what you pay for. Quickfuel makes one heck of a carb. Especially if you have the capabilities to tune it to its full capabilities.

The Street Avengers are junk if you're after power, as noted get a DP or something else. The SA feels soggy
