I currently am the proud owner of a 69 Charger #'s matching with very low original miles. The colors are the Green on Green and am worrying over whether to stay original or change color to suit a more pleasing palette. I have decided I will be selling this car soon and am trying to get the most return on my investment. What's heartbreaking is the space to store this vehicle is not there. The city is already harassing me for other stupid violations. They are informing me the only thing I can do in my drive is change the oil. When I recently showed up for court at a preliminary hearing for a code violation, the code officer mentioned that he saw me changing brakes on one vehicle after I was told oil changes only. Needless to say this stuff is causing me so much stress now, that i've hired a attorney and spent thousands of dollars trying to get off their radar including fines. The big kicker is the 69 Satellite that I have already spent alot of money to start the full restore w/ rotisserie and engine swap before I bought the Charger!

Should I keep it Green and original? Change it to Black and put in a Hemi? Make it a bird? I understand that there's alot of hardcore Mopar lovers out there who would kill for a crack at a car like this! One of them being me! Now that the opportunity is there I have all this other crap to deal with. Forgot to mention that I run a business also. I need help and input at this point. I'm very frustrated and confused and overwhelmed with issues. Someone should just choot me and put me out of my misery!:BangHead:

If you have to sell the cars, I would sell them the way they sit. IMO, you will be hard pressed to even coming close to getting the money you spend on a restoration back out of the car. I also think it would be much easier selling a car that is unrestored. Let someone else chose the route they want to go with color combos and drivetrain options.

I had a similar problem myself once. Based on my experience, it's a LOCAL law thing. I strongly suggest you find out EXACTLY what the law is in your area before you sell off those beautiful Mopars. Maybe you could put up a Home Depot shed and work on the cars inside it?

In my case it was a "no unlicensed vehicle in view" law. Basically, it was a "have it licensed or inside a garage law". Once I knew that I found an angle..... a car cover. Though it was still technically illegal, it was also illegal for the cops to come onto my property to look under the cover. The cover blew off one day and I got a ticket within about an hour, paid the ticket, then tied ropes on the cover to make sure it never came off again....no more tickets. Try to look at it from an angle like that vs. your local laws. GOOD LUCK

you need to buy a hellcat and install a very loud
50 state legal exhaust system on it.

good thing the charger is ################### match

hunt2elk is spot on, especially since the Peoples Republic of Kansas City has you in their crosshairs.

Sucks to hear! If I had the money/space, I'd get a construction loan, spend 15-20 grand on a decent sized pole building, load in the cars and do what ever the heck I wanted to. All it takes is a "No trespassing" sign and/or maybe a 100lb German Sheppard to keep them off at that point.

If I didn't have the space or money........I'd either move, (cause that sound's more like communist mother Russia) or buy a few heavy duty car canopy's so they can't sit and spy on what you're doing with your rides.

Good luck! Hope it works out for you.

What's wrong with green? I like green.

Me too!
The most desired color in 1968...

Anyway, I do not understand this thread...

Your car or not....

Do the car the way YOU want it...
If it were mine, keep the color as is..
Dont paint it!
Just clean the paint and wax it....

I agree with hunt2elk, if you MUST sell the charger, I'd sell it as is. Any money you put into it, other than a bottle of wax, will most likely be a loss. ( figuratively speaking)

How much will you be asking for the Charger if you decide to sell it the way it sits?

I agree with hunt2elk too. From a pure resale value, original is (generally) better.

Most car grading is done on a scale of 1 to 5. A general rule of thumb is that the cost to move a car up one "grade point" is about twice the value increase. So to sell a car, I don't think investing a lot in it is worth it. Having said that, having a running, drivable car is great and enhances value a lot because a buyer knows it is generally sound. So my recommendation is to see if you can get it running, and better yet, driving. That will probably be the best from a value perspective.

Good luck with it and the &^%$! local authorities...

What Hawk said!

Spend the minimum amount you can to get it running(if it already isn't) then sell it as is. Also maybe a wax job on the paint to make it look a bit more presentable.

No back yard? Years ago I had a fenced in area behind my garage AND covered them up too. Now no one seems to say anything about what I do since the moron neighbor next door got old and died. He had nothing else to do except harass me.......

Had same issues with neighbor years ago so what I did was get rid of the unwanted cars such as the Camaro you have there maybe truck as well clean up the place and this way the nosy neighbor doesn't have anything to bitch about.

Offer them milk and cookies as a nice gesture LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headbang:

What if you put a large concrete pad where the cars are now. Then close it in as time and money allows

I have a 69 and here is pictures of how I found it. I spent a ton of money restoring it.

Here is some pictures of it restored. I sometimes think I should have left it unrestored as this is the way most guys like them. Maybe theses pictures will persuade you on your thoughts. Good luck.
