I was Almost done painting and ran out of the mopar brand paint. Went to advance and purchased their Chrysler hemi Orange. It's not even close. So now I have to make a decision.

1. Order a $12 mopar brand can

2. Repainted with advance auto for $6 a can

opinions are welcome

The lighter color is more like Max Wedge. The darker looks like Chevrolet.

The chevy orange spray bombs look very close to original to me

The orange on the manifold kinda looks like Allis Chalmers Persian orange. Is there a farm or implement store nearby that sells spray paint? Tractor and Supply etc. Just another angle on this. Good luck.

engine paint.

I was faced with the same problem as you and went with the cheaper and more convenient 6.00 dollar paint. What a mistake.Be patient order the right paint!

the orange on the manifold is race hemi orange, used on race hemi's and max wedge like Doug said, the orange on the right is street hemi orange has more red in it. thats my take on it.

I've had good luck with the more expensive paints that Eastwood sells. The Mopar paint is good too. My experience with rattle can paint is that you pretty much get what you pay for. If you spend less than $10 a can you can get some pretty crappy paint kinda like Krylon.

Exactly........

Two types of paint (Orange) for Mopar!

Here is my take on it. Use the paint you like best as once its all the same color no one is going to know if its street Hemi orange or race Hemi orange. Just use the same paint for all of it. I like the MP Hemi orange but I found over the years that 50% or better of the cans never work right and are junk cans. So I used the Dupli-color Hemi orange paint. Ron

Same paint on my eng but this is at an indoor car show and the fist pic is outside. What a difference the light and shading makes the paint look. Looks like 2 different colors but its the same eng and the same paint as its the only paint this eng has had on it. Ron
