Ok I just being a little lazy right now, car in the garage, I'm in the house. Was pondering mini tubs on my 69 rr. I know the minis would alow 2 more inches of tire but the question at hand would be what clearance issue would I have with the springs then. I got both frame rails replaced(new) and cringe when I think of cutting them up. How about some thoughts , info, and some advise, thanks, you guys are the best!!

Depends on your plans for that car. Non # matching and you plan to drive the crap out of it - do it. If it's your second wife and you never park it closer than 50 yards from anyone else - don't to it. :)

And secondly: Do you NEED it?

I say do it. Own it, drive it like you want to. I think it would look really nice mini tubbed.

Before you decide, check out uscartool.com for info on rear spring relocation kits. I would tub it, but that maybe because I already have, and like it.

I wouldn't do it....

I did. Both inner and outer. It's a big commitment. I got 3" with the inner and 2-1/2 with the outer and a much more squared off tub. It measures 17" wide now. The leafs will be in the way with the inboard mini tub, so unless you're going to also do a leaf spring relocation, it's probably NOT worth it. My other car runs 295/50/15's and 275/60/15 drag radials in stock tubs. You can run a big tire without it, unless you want to lower the car. I put lots of pictures on this site.

That's the info I was kinda lookin for, someone who has done it and do t seem to regret it. My car is not #s matching and I DO plan on runnin it the way it was intended however it will also be a show car or a super nice driver. I want my cake and eat it too .

hey hemi, thanks for the info, what other cars do you have and can you send me a link to them, thanks again for your help!

A 315/60 will fit the stock wheel well.

Here it is with the 295/50/15 setup on it. Stock wheel wells, Cal-trac mono leafs and strange double adjustable shocks. Leafs are NOT relocated on this car. The other setup is 275 drag radials on some centerline wheels. Same car.
