I have a 1970 Road Runner with a bench front seat. When I bought the car, it was missing its headrests, so I bought some used headrests.

In restoring the seat backs, I noticed an issue with my headrests. If you look at the picture, it looks like the one headrest post needs to have a flat section.

Are 70 headrests different?

Thanks,

Hawk

Thanks Snakeyes!

It is a link to the A bodies site. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=222697
A person on that thread seems to indicate that the headrests are different between bucket and bench seats:

"Bucket seats had equal length arms and bench had unequal length I tried to install these in my redone bench seat and they wouldn't go So I was going off what he said... I ordered a set with unequal arms and they worked. I asked a member on here in members restoration who just re-did his seat and he said he used the headrests with equal length arms also...so they might work but I don't know that for sure"

Hmmm. So do I need different headrests???

Found an old thread with these headrests for sale. Note the flat edges at the bottom of the post.

(sigh) I guess I bought the wrong headrests... :black_eye:
