Magnum 500 Center Caps

Only matters if you mix them. Side by side you can see a difference. If you are getting all 4 then it will only matter to folks who see original vs reproduction.

I'm with ODZ, does anyone know which caps are supposed to go with the Magnum 500s? It doesnt make a big differene visually, but I would like to know. I dont mind reproductions over original as the wheels themselves arent original. Any input is greatly appreciated, you guys have all been a huge help so far.

I got my wheels and caps from Summit about a year ago. The caps are from China but they are well made, fit well and look good.

Great input Moose and great picture. So the China made caps are probably the summit brand caps? They look great, I'd be very happy with those. Mucho gracias!

I went digging and found a few pictures of Mags with an up-close shot of the center caps. If you can identify the maker of any, let me know. I can hardly see any differences in them and think they all look great.

I'm not sure who makes the wheels and caps for Blue Oval Ranch, but I heard somewhere that Wheel Vintiques makes all the steel Magnum 500s.

SOLD OUT ON SUMMIT! I'm so sad right now haha. I even have a $20-off coupon! Might just get their brand caps.

Sorry, rikubot, just saw your question. I'm running 235/60 radial T/As on 15 X 7 Magnums. Very tight getting them on the back hubs - almost had to drop the spring hanger but they just squeezed in with some careful wiggling! I've heard that Satellites/Belvederes are even tighter, not sure about any others.

Damn, that's a tight squeeze! I really like how the rear fender comes down low like that on that body style, but I can see why that would make a struggle stashing fatties under there. It looks great, though. Is there any where on here that I can see more pics of your car?

I got my lug nuts in yesterday. Gotta say I'm getting pretty excited to put these wheels on my ride. Now I am just waiting on my last 15x7, my back-ordered center caps, valves stems, and tires. Here's a couple pics without centers:

The lugs were bought off of ebay for $14, but the plating looks good and I'm assuming they aren't gonna disintegrate while I'm driving.

Looks good, can't wait to see them on your car.

Thanks car nut! I'll be posting the minute I mount them up. You have any advice where I should get them mounted and balanced? I don't want some fed up employee mis-treating my shiny new wheels lol.

That was my biggest problem too, make sure who ever does has a light touch machine. They should balance them using the lug nut holes, forgot what they call that. Don't let them balance them using a cone to mount to the machine.

I just went from "nervous" to "paranoid." Is there any national chain that does all the right stuff? I just moved to Fort Collins, CO. I don't know of any decent mechanics/garages, and where I used to live the automotive service industry was so far below "par" that it couldn't see "par" with a pair of binoculars. Thanks for the advice Car Nut.

rikubot, here are a few more pics of my Coronet.....

The car originally came from North Carolina & was brought to Ontario in '07. I bought it two years ago when it had 49K original miles on it. Paint, interior, vinyl roof and drive train are all original. It had 14" "road wheels" on it which I changed to the 15" Magnums (same as the ones I had on my '68 GTX back in the 60's). It has dual flowmaster exhaust with a crossover and I've converted the igntion to a Pertronix Ignitor II, with the power relay & matching coil. Engine's only a 318 Poly with 727 auto & 2:94 rear end and that's the way it will stay. Everything works - I even converted the original clock to quartz & it doesn't skip a beat!

Wow, Moose. You really have one of a kind there. Hard to believe that after all this time is almost entirely original, and such low miles. I wish everyone took as good of care of their cars as the owners did with yours haha. The road wheels look really good on there too, but those Mags are awesome! Ironically, the only thing original on my car is the name :laughing5: Those three pics all make great desktop wallpapers lol. Thanks for grabbing those pics and sharing :headbang:

I got my center caps in the mail today, and the quality quality looks great. I went with the Wheel Vintiques caps. They are about 1 3/4" tall, 2 1/8" wide at the top, and 2 5/8" wide at the bottom. They are most definitely the more conical version accurate to the picture. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to keep them or not. I do like that they aren't super long, but they are wide toward the bottom. It does look pretty seamless like that, which I think is pretty cool. As always, any feedback or comments are greatly appreciated. Right now I'm leaning toward keeping them. Thanks dudes.
