I have a used 26", 3 row, hemi/A12 small font radiator 2949054. Looks excellent but needs rodding or recored.

So, I am researching it's worth. So far, I have determined they are highly sought after in any condition. Licensed new ones are over $1000. Used ones seem like $500 and up.

So, should I be asking between $500-$700?

Thanks FBBO

Let me rephrase the question. What would you sell this radiator for? Stated another way, what would you pay for this radiator?

Come on, boys, throw me a bone.

As an example I'm looking for a 68 BB Rad 2898045 and was quoted $495 plus $50 bucks shipping for one with 'a few dings' but a solid 3 core (would need to be checked/possibly rodded). And that part number is not correct for 68 BBL or HEMI cars.

Restored originals are probably worth more to serious restorers than the repos ??? So it would depend on the appearance of the core and any damage and the difference in how much it would cost to have it taken care of and looking nice and ready for install. I would say you are probably in the correct price range. Just my two cents.

What significance is the small font vs large? date range / change in supplier more than one supplier originally?

If you get any offer over $475.00, I'd personally take it and run directly to the bank!
The market has been seeing these radiators sell for between $350-$475.00 for similar condition units.
The availability of the Glen Ray repop's are high quality and extremely reasonable, all factors considered.
The days of getting $500-$700.00 for a used '054' radiator needing to be re-cored was over years ago.

...that being said, I'll pay $375.00 instantly/immediately via PayPal (I will cover the fees as well) for it as I "need" one for my 1969 A12 Super Bee 4-speed.

Got any links to back that up?

Daniel:
I have an 054 radiator that was for my 1969 Hemi Superbee. I never installed it.
It is a used original but I think it is in pretty good shape. Probably needs to be painted and detailed. I sold the car last winter and just remembered the radiator. If you still need one for $375 plus shipping, I would like to sell mine. I could send you a few photos if you are interested.
Thanks, Lyn

My last one sold at 825.00 (needed a recore) but that was over 5 years ago. Times have changed since, much more reasonable now.

In case you're wondering, on the advice of Brian (b-star69) I kept my old radiator. Good thing I did, too. I got a PM and a phone call from the owner of US Radiator asking to do me a favor for posting that comparison review between their radiator and the cheaper Champion. So, I sent him the 054 radiator and they re-cored it for free. They even upgraded it to a more efficient core. All I had to pay was shipping to them.

Thanks, Brian for the great advice. I love this forum!

Was looking back at this old thread....what a difference 14 moths can make. Try finding a 2949054 radiator for sale today for under a grand and the Glen Ray repops.......About $1200.

Dude I'd put it on fleaBay with 10 days or so of auction and start the reserve at 375 +shipping and see what you get. No "buy it now".

I don't know squat about 6 pack/Hemi radiators, but I didn't just fall off a turnip truck a few posts back. You didn't either. Street smarts tells me it's worth what someone is willing to pay. They ain't making any more of those radiators, and all the tea in China won't give one of those knock-off's MOPAR DNA. And the "white knight" with all of 1 post on this site, swooping in to save the day with his buddy "10 post" saying he'll buy it smells a lot like "shill".

You can do what suits you, and it's not uncommon for car guys to swap around/trade parts for less than market value with bros that they know are hobbyist, but you don't need to sleep at a Holiday Inn Express see its probably worth more than is being "offered" here.

Just my $.02, good luck and good day.

(and now I see this post is old. go figure)
