Yea I am thinking of having my whole car redone electrically. I want to get rid of all those wire connections going thru the firewall, has anybody done this to their ride? What about putting in relay boxes? I am no electrician,so I will be hiring this job out. I guess the M&H wiring is the way to go,my buddy did his coronet in GM wiring, simpler and cheaper, but not decided yet. Will the factory service manuals give you detailed schematics for the wiring Thanks for any input:headbang:

They will give you detailed schematics but they aren't anything you'll just read and make quick sense of, allot of tracing from one page to the other (time consuming). I personally don't see the point in putting the same old out of date wiring back in even if it is new (unless your going for correctness), take the opportunity to update to newer fuses and more circuits. Ron Francis, Painless and American Autowire are a few brands that make harnesses, I went with a universal one but if your farming it out you'll likely be cheaper going with one made for the car (less labor). I also did away with all of the hard to find and expensive switches and used more readily available modern ones.

I did mine like that. Built my own harness. It took about two weeks. Wiring goes through floor pan into right front frame rail and comes out just behind the motor plate tab. Relays attached to the motor plate for fans and pump. All holes are welded up in the firewall.

What I did was to replace all the wiring back to original, with the except of beefing up the ammeter to a higher capacity. Did everything except the dash harness (waiting on that from M & H). All lights, switches, now work as they are supposed to. I did pay attention to minimize current consumption and all connectors were cleaned and packed with dielectric grease. Very happy with the outcome. Changed to (mostly) LED lights. I am planning to put in a high power stereo which will have its own dedicated wiring. Used Evans wiring, he and his stuff are great.

I just ordered an engine harness, and under dash harness from Year One last Friday. They had a one day 30% off sale.... I am excited for the snow to be gone so I can fire up the RR..... good luck with your wiring!

Yea thanks guys, probably go with year one, don't like dealing with them, but M & H everybody has had good luck with. DVW hell of a job man!!! I wish I was electrically minded

What year one isn't telling people is that the M&H harnesses are way backordered. I'm still waiting on mine.

Matrix - I just ordered a full set of harnesses from Year One to rewire mine from front to back. How far are they back ordered? I think they said it would ship in 1-4 weeks when I submitted the order (which is plenty long if you ask me). Do you think it's longer than that? When did you order yours?

I ordered from YO beginning of Feb, emailed them maybe the 12th. Got this answer:
Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the dash-harness that you ordered is and has been behind schedule for the past several months. We have a total of (25) of Part # HU271B currently on order and at this point, I don’t have a good estimated time of arrival. The delay is not only on the harness that you have on order, it is on every single wiring-harness that the company manufacturers. I wish the news was better. At this time, however, it basically is what it is.

Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the update. I'm really thrilled YO charged me for everything already despite not being able to deliver...

I'll try to get additional information from them on timing and post any info I can get.

I did the ez wiring one on my wife's dart, wasn't too bad bought the 21 circuit one which was a tad to much, just needed the wireing from original factory to match the steering column wires to the proper ones, other then that easy straight forward. Not completely done due to just getting the custom dash insert made.

Yes Year One dinged my card too.... told me the delay was 8-12 weeks.... lovely.
