So I gave my 70 satellite to my father and he is cloning it to a GTX orange and black pictures to come soon.

Now I am considering a new project 69 charger. Before I buy the car I wanted to see what you guys think I should pay for it

69 charger 318 column shift. ZERO RUST

Car is complete, here are some pictures imagejpeg950.jpgimagejpeg9519.jpgimagejpeg_8.jpgimagejpeg_1.jpg

Hmmm,
Are you sure ZERO RUST?

$5,500 if no rust.
Now, don't everyone start yelling at me...I passed up on a painted/solid body 69 General Lee for $12,000
Complete w/ a 440 and running fine

Now you can "beat-up-on-me" LOL
After all....
:iamwithstupid:

He said zero rust, looking at the quarters there is definitely some rust

Maybe I am over estimating it but I was thinking closer to 10k based on what is on ebay and what I can find on here and Craigslist

I'd say everyone's close I was thinking 6 k are all the parts there ? If not price go's down ?

I'd have to agree on between 6 and 8k. That really does depend on how complete it is. Both with the running gear and/especially the interior. Though your probably not going to leave the 318 in it. As far as sheet metal goes, those cars are so popular you can damn near build one out of a Year One catalog. It'll cost ya, though! That's why bottom line chassis price is so important. Look it over really good. Take a good look at the frame rails, trunk extenders, firewall in and around the wiper cowling and inner fenders down by the tranny tunnel. They tend to become soft spots on the ones that have been sitting around outside.

So the trunk floor is rusted, lower quarters also. I think that is par for the course with these cars. He told me he payed 10 for the car and that what he wants. I am looking at a 1000 in shipping to get it to me. Everything else is there and the car is complete.

These are becoming rare and I think the value of the charger will increase significantly when the 2 door version comes out next year.

Still not sure of what number I will offer, but I am thinking around 8. Am I valuing this too much? I just can never seem to find a 68 or 69 charger that is not a complete rust bucket for under 10k

I'd pass on it at that price watch eBay something will come up . I just bought a 70 charger 500 383 4 speed with almost no rust for 10k running and driveing (motor had 5000 miles on it) I got it off eBay no one bid on it it started at 10k and I ended it at 10k I got luckey I wouldn't touch that car for anything over 5-6 since you said the trunk was shot and 1/4's I'd be looking at the rear frame rails real good , also I'm shure more rust will arise it always does .good luck in your hunt hope you find one

I'll add one more thing then I'll be quite , the cars worth what you want to pay every car is diff ,if you really want it then you may pay more for it don't forget it's not about buying and selling its about getting what you want if your just in it for a flip walk away ,if this is the car you want then you might have to pay a little more then normal to get it,
I have an example , I'm a huge fan of 72 rallye chargers I've always wanted one but never could find a nice one I had one in front of me and I could afford it. But the guy was pritty firm on his price and the car was worse off then he let on .but I wanted it and payed more then I should of to get my "dream car" I couldn't sell it to get my cash back and more then likely never see a profit if I did want to sell it because it's what I want and I'm not cutting corners hopeful you see what I'm saying if your unshure of it walk away another will come up there very popular cars they made a lot of them good luck and remember there out there, I have a 68 down the street guy wants 10k for it all new metal and there was a 70 30 mins up the road in nice shape guy wanted 7 for it so there out there good luck

they all need metal......... quarters, pans, and wheelhouses are a given....... if you can score one with a nice roof, cowl, and rails you are ahead of the game........ hold out for an R/T with at least some good metal on it........ paying a little more up front will save you a ton of parts and labor later

Wow.......I see lots of rust and what we can't see I can only imagine.
