I have a 1970 roadrunner I am trying to put rear bumper guards on. In my research I am having a difficult time trying to figure out if I even have the right ones. Now I do not believe I have ones for a 69 model, because they have a bolt permanently attached to it that goes through the bumper, unlike the 70 model where the bolt screws into the guard. Correct me if I am wrong, I am learning new things every day. The problem I have is that they do not seem to fit the back bumper to well leaving a gap? I did find in my manual that their was a front bumper guard option as well (not the rubber inserts that go into the bumper) and these seem to fit nicely on the front bumper as shown in the diagram I have attached. Their is no mounting holes on the front and the manual says that in 1970 special bumpers were not needed because they all came with provisions for the guards front and rear. Another question came into play when I tried to find pics of rear bumper guards on a roadrunner. I did not find any and also most did not have the holes in the rear bumper where the guards are suppose to mount like mine does. As far as numbers go, I am only able to read a big number 2 on one guard and a 3 on the other. If any one has these mounted or has photos, please share any info and correct me if I am wrong. I have attached a diagram and photos. Thanks again and hope to hear from some of you soon.
