1966 Charger, 6.4 Hemi - on the road

Awesome build Bro!
Got a similar set up suspension wise and with a 5.7. Mine is literally minutes from the road considering how many years I have been working on it.
Yours sounds great, what size pipe and which mufflers are you using??

Thanks, Darious. 2.5" exhaust, Dynomax mufflers - it's the TTI H pipe exhaust. It does sound nice, and it's pretty quiet, which is great for cruising and longer drives, but I sometimes would like it to be a little more menacing. I've considered swapping in (similarly sized) spintech mufflers, but I think I may end up just adding a set of cutouts just before the mufflers - loud when it's appropriate (I can't think of when, but it can happen!) and quiet the rest of the time.

I had a set of Spintechs on my Dart with the 340. They lasted one trip to Spring Fling and back before I tore them out. The drone was just unbearable AND they were VERY loud!

Never assume that what you read is correct.

Man,
You said a mouth full. I've found that to be true.
Great car and lost of good ideas.
I appreciate your sharing sage advice with those of us still in the process of saving first gen Chargers.

Wow, beautiful Charger! I love what you've done with it and the engine compartment is just flat out sweet.

My 6.4 Hemi crate motor hooked to a 5 speed Tremec and a 4.56 rear.

Which spintech's? I know they make a lot of different models / shapes / sizes. Kind of like flowmaster - I used the 50 series (what they call an SUV) muffler on a past project, and it was a nice deep mellow sound, which makes sense from a resonant frequency standpoint. My buddy with the 6.1 Hemi Duster has spintech mufflers, and that car is loud enough (with side exit exhaust) to require ear plugs on extended journeys - that is NOT what I'm after.

I'm now leaning toward a set of electric cutouts just before the current mufflers with turndowns. Loud sometimes, but nice and quiet the rest of the time.

I am pretty sure they were the 50 series also. With the 2 1/2" x pipe they were just too loud and the resonation drove me crazy. I have dynomax VT mufflers on my GTX with the 5.7 2 1/2 x pipe set up and they sound great.
