I'm looking for 6.70 or 7.10 rods for a build. I'm looking for BBC rod journal size but with Mopar width.

Since i'm offset grinding the crank to BBC journal size, the rods I have lookeg into all have the smaller chevy width and that would be a problem

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

Thanks very much for the info Meep & Prop put me on the right track. K1 does indeed have 7.1 rods with big chevy journal size and mopar width and so does Eagle.
Eagles are not in their catalog but they do have them and are better priced. For reference incase it helps anyone out it's CRS7100C3D. Scat has 6.80 rods part # 66858 that again were not in catalog that are with Big Chevy journal and chrysler width and they are comparable priced with Eagles.

This should help our Mopar guys out for people that offset grind a crank and want to avoid the added expense of welding up the stock crank to fix up side clearance.
Basically you can buils an inexpensive RB (Small stroker with offset grind crank to 3.915 which is about 125 in machining and use 7.10 eagle rods and off the shelf 1.66CH Icon or diamond pistons.

What really extra from redoing a 440 is the 125.00 in machining the factory crank. Pistons are the same price and rods are 20 bucks more.

Final thought the machinist said to be he would reaaly strongly recomend doing it to a forged crank instead of cast because of strenght and more important balancing. He mentioned with a cast crank it would be a nightmare to balance it and the money saved with a cast crank would be offset by balancing costs so it wouldn't be a great deal.

Don't get hung up on the width. The leak point is the rod bearing/crank clearance. Plenty of motors running lots of side clearance. 7.100" rod and small journal are nice to reduce reciprocating weight.
