You know what I mean. Made to look like a Hemi. I guess I would be don't ask, don't tell but it asked I would say it's fake.

you mean a clone ?? hell yes
or something FAKE made to look like a hemi engine bolt on BS ?? then hell no
too each their own thou

I'd drive a clone in a heart beat but wouldn't go to any trouble to make it pass as one if that's what you mean.

A fake HEMI.... Ar you talking about the engine being something that looks like a hemi?

I have one. Its a blast to drive and I don't have to worry about blowing it up.

here's my 65 dodge coronet

I hear "fake hemi" and I think of a car with a 318 or 383 under the hood.. but with "hemi" badges and callouts on the outside. So in that case hell no! That's like the exact inverse of a sleeper. Would it be called an insomniac then?...

If you meant clone.. ain't nothin wrong with em.

verdelaw,,Long ago a high school friend did just that. 66 Coronet, put HEMI emblems on it and a nice set of wheels and tires.Real nice Black car.He worked at a strip mall and would park away from other cars.If you know where I'm going with this,, Yep someone stole it. I bet they were surprised when they fired up a poly 318. Found it burnt a few days later.

Hell I'll drive anything mopar better then a rice burner or a hoopty , 318 /6 don't bother me stick a hemi badge on it don't matter to me I know what it is and if someone says cool hemi why they look at a /6 well the badge worked then I'll be trying to sell it to that person , yes sir it is what ever you say it is,have I got a deal for you....

I'd drive a car with a real hemi in it but to dress up an engine to make it look like a hemi is for posers and I want no part of that.

O.K. are we talking about a car that looks like it has a Hemi and doesn't or one that has a Hemi and shouldn't? Dressing one up to look like it has one is just messed up.

I would drive any car with a hemi in it with no problems, I like stock original cars but I'm not crazy.
BTW, how in the hell can you make a 318 (or whatever) look like a hemi anyways?

A couple years back I saw a big block wedge car on eBay with Hemi valve covers fabricated to bolt over the wedge covers--at first glance, it really looked authentic with the plug wires running correctly, etc.--I WOULDN'T DO IT--I'm just saying it's possible.

If it was a wedge dressed like a Hemi no.
Went to a show a few years ago and there was a really cool period correct gasser cruising around with velocity stacks sticking threw the hood. WOW, that's cool! Got closer and it was just stacks stuck to the hood. Oh, not cool.

:shruggy::shruggy::shruggy:Let me think......Should I drive a Ford Focus to work,or a 1971 Hemi Roadrunner clone instead....
So hard to choose. lol

For driving to work?.....Focus.

Why? I drive my 67 Coronet to work every nice day I get....it's in the parking lot now.

27 miles each way....but I do average 21 mpg with it...so its not a wallet biter.
