I didn't really need another project, but this was too good to pass on. It's a '67 Coronet 440, originally a 318 car. The guy I bought it from had taken it to a body shop in 2011 and just finally gotten it back a month ago. They filled all the trim holes, stripped and painted it black, added a hemi hood scoop and installed a new windshield and headliner. While he was waiting he had bought a bunch of new parts for the interior, subframe connectors, inboard spring kit, a trunk mount battery kit, had the bumpers rechromed and the tail panel restored. There is no motor or trans, but that's not a big deal. The owner had moved on to other projects while he was waiting and just wasn't interested in it anymore. I stumbled across it Wednesday night when I was looking for some parts for my buddies '67 Coronet 500. I knew it wouldn't last long, so I got up at 5:00 AM on Saturday morning and made the 3 hour drive in a nasty rain storm to pick it up. Clear Oregon title and original blue and yellow Oregon plates, it even still has the certicard. My 472 hemi may not go in the '71 Road Runner after all. I'm thinking leave it column shift, bench seat, leave all the trim off and put a set of Cragars on it.

On the way

Nicer score Outlaw525... You should be very happy it looks very nice :headbang: I wanna know ..but I'm not gonna ask ;)

Great score....but don't put Cragars on it!!

Just binned the ones that were on my car. Anything but Cragars

That's sweet looking , I'd like to know also but won't ask , wish there was stuff like that around here for sale . Good luck with it

Alright- it was $5K. The total paint and body bill was somewhere around $7,000 when it was all done. The only other option I would consider on wheels would be straight spoke Torque Thrusts. I still think the chrome would really pop on it. Oh well I have time. The GTX needs finished first.

nice grab for sure...how about steel wheels with just the small center cap? Just thinking out loud.

Great looking car. Looks menacing, sinister, tough. The wheel choice will be a hard one for sure. I know that I would have a few sleepless nights over that decision lol.

THAT(!) was a deal right there. Spraying the trunk to complete the color change would be easy enough.

As for the Cragars, they would appeal to the masses and are period correct. I'm with you on that choice.

I saw that car on CL as well; good that it went to a forbbodiesonly member!!

Yep would be cragars for me, Nice Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, can't do plus size wheels on this car. I will keep the 18's for my '06 Charger. No offense, just not my deal. Like I said I've got time to decide but I'm pretty sure that my 472 will going in this. Here's what it looks like waiting on the stand.

I have TTI headers ceramic coated black and 8.8 Accel yellow plug wires. It will would be alot easier to build a radio/heater delete, no back seat old school street racer out of this than my '71 Road Runner. I even have a set of A100 seats, a 4.10 sure grip and a good manual steering box in the parts pile.
