Craigslist find- I couldn't help myself

Nice score outlaw525. Good luck with putting it together.

themechanic, I really like the Foose Coronet wheels and the Coronet they are on. Maybe someday I can afford them for my 65 500.

The Coronet looks good. I dig the Rat Roaster setting on the Hemi.

The best part about the Rat Roaster is that it is an old Super Stock "cheater" manifold. Check out the inside. No back fire booms and it flows better.

I am kinda partial to cragars on 66-67 coronets lol (but thats just me and my car lol) I will admit the next set of wheel that goes on this car will be torque thrusts for sure...

Nothing like a slick black 66-67 b-body, I am a bodyman and I appreciate the work that goes into a black paint job,,,You did VERY well on that car...You just paid for the bodyjob and got the car for free ..Nice score

I like that it's old school but I don't get the concept of putting a cover over top of a high rise manifold. What's the purpose of that?

The Rat Roaster started life as a crossram and was prone to fuel puddling and was a b!t@h to tune. My understanding is that this manifold was built in the '70's for a specific race class and hidden in the Rat Roaster body so the competition didn't know hat you were actually using. Here's what it originally looked like inside.

67 Dodge Coronet 500 011.jpgI always was partial to the all chrome magnum 500 with the painted black inserts.

For the now the Coronet is in storage until this winter. I have to get my '71 GTX and the Duster for my son's graduation present finished before I can start on it. I have formulated a plan (that according to my wife will change) on the direction for the Coronet. Here's what I'm thinking and it will give me time to collect up the parts I need.

Stance and tire and wheel size:

AR500 wheels- 15x5 and 15x8- they come in a 0 offset so they should fit in the stock wheel well. No mini tubs

Here's the plan:

472 hemi w/auto
manual steering, manual disc brakes
A100 seats- all black interior.
Floor shifter- I bought a floor shift column for it.
Back seat, radio, heater and wiper delete
Seat belt strap window roll up like the '68 hemi Darts, fixed rear windows
4.10's in the 8 3/4
Super stock springs
Battery in the trunk

Just a bit of an update. The Coronet is in hibernation until this winter. I am busy trying to get my GTX finished and also get the Duster for my youngest son's graduation present finished. I have also been liquidating my years of parts collecting that are not earmarked for my cars. Trying to get focused and get some cars finished before I get too old (LOL). Throw in work being really busy and there just isn't enough time in the week.

Here's the Duster for my son:

Here's what I picked up at the Portland Swap Meet. A set of Wilwood front brakes, a new 3500 stall converter and a really nice grill center section and emblem:

Here's a couple late night beer surfing old Craigslist ad finds:

A new set of Moser axles and a Dana 60 spool that I traded for an 8 3/4 spool:

And an NOS Direct Connection reverse manual valve body race transmission, the guy I got it from bought it new in 1987 and never used it.

The direction of the car is definitely taking shape.
