Hey fellahs, I have to put in a new TC, a 2000-2400 stall. I started to pull trans. from underneath, but now am thinkin I'd be better pullin both motor and trans. out of the car in one peice and setting it on the floor. Wadda you guys think? The car is a 67 Coronet with a mild build. Mostly cam, alum intake and 4 bbl carb. The cam I put in killed my off the line time. It's a Comp. 20-221-3. Better flowing heads will be next.:frustrated::

Just a question? Is the car all detailed under the hood? If not would be a good time to drop it all out but I have done lots of tranny swaps from underneath, in the end it's up to you and how much work you want to do. Personally just the tranny swap from underneath is WAY less work than dropping the motor and kmember all out.

Converter replacement.

If your only replacing the converter I wouldn't pull motor because of the additional work involved. If your doing other engine work such as cam swap then I would.Just my opinion! Good luck.

I'm with "Dave" on this.
Pulling the trans is so much easier than the engine/trans.

Thanks Chad for the answer. The car is only rattle can detailed in the engine compartment. Just for understanding you better, why would the K member have to come out?

Thanks, everyone for the advise. Dave:headbang:

Because if you unbolt the Kmember the motor comes out with it through the bottom.

Leave the eng in place just drop the trans it's much less work .

I forgot a flex plate bolt once and cracked the plate, remember all 4 of those.
