Not to hyjack the post but I have a ? I just rebuilt a eld 600 and I've never ran this carb it was included in with a car I bought anyways the car had a 750 on it (318 sticker) I know the 750 is way to big but I got a hellava deal on it anyways I rebuilt this 600 and stuck it on and now the car hesitates and ideals funny I adjusted it and it's just not getting better, now I've rebuilt many carbs with no problems I didn't see anything wrong when I was in there any ideas guys as soon as you get it going it's fine but ideal it's terrible. I was thinking maybe the vacuums were diff between the two but I found that incorrect, also the vacuum advance is on the pass side port . Everything else is plumbed like the 750 was ??? Help.

Check accelerator pump shot and adjust rod as required. Note Edelbrock AFB float settings are 7/16"

This carb has the 3 adjustment holes on it I stuck it in the middle ,I'll give it a try the floats are good

Put the rod in the hole closest to the center of the carb instead of the #2 hole . I've had the same issue . This will help.

Every time you change the rod position you need to set the plunger height. Bend link to adjust.

Ok how do I know when it's adjusted?
It doesn't change it much. Personally I've never seen any gain or loss when setting the plunger height to spec. I've changed many w/o bending the rod. I'd try it first. Only takes 5 Minutes. Then if you want to make it exact bend the link until the plunger is 13/32" is above the top of the lid. Plenty of additional information available here.
