Anyone done it? Mine are all there....black...no so black anymore...wash? Dye ( I heard of using RIT..?)

just did a set. if there dirty wash them in oxiclean first. I used a spray dye came out ok. But wished I would have used the RIT.

I have the samt problem... Would wanna wash them and get them black again...

What is RIT?

I have a green set that I want to make black. Will the RIT also work for this application? I have heard trying to dye the green black makes a funky color? anyone have advice?

CamJam, on the AMC forum, did a very thorough job on his seat belt resto. It was also seven years ago, so who knows what the prices are now. So I have a '66 Satellite with the bright red interior. My neighbor and I cleaned the rear belts yesterday, first with a lackluster showing from Krud Kutter, followed up with a much better showing from Oxi-Clean. The belts just look really faded.
Going to pay a visit to the local Michael's this morning for some Rit, my only question being, would the wine color be the closest color match? At this point, I don't know what the exact color should be because I haven't seen any other red examples out there.
Any help with the correct red color would be helpful.

Thank you.
