when I was insuring my 63 max clone , my insurance guy wanted proof of value, so I went to cars-on-line .com and found several examples of cars close to mine that were priced pretty high , and showed that to them and they excepted it no problem.

Hagerty is ok, but their towing assistance is poor. I waited for 2 plus hours, and then they called and said: sorry, no flatbed service available. I said I paid for that service, and I won't put a 20k car on a tow truck. Fortunately, my Son-in-law came and babysat the car, while I went and got my own truck and trailer. Then, I Insured an Impeccable Demon a year ago worth every bit of 10k, and they refused to go over $8,400, by the so-called book. So they do put limits on value. at least in my experience.

The vote is still out in my case.

I was with Hagerty but then they wouldn't insure a few cars I had, 2005 Vette and 97 Firehawk so I switched to Grundy.
Grundy said no problem as long as they weren't regular drivers and I 2 newer vehicles than the 2005 for my wife and I to drive. I've never had a claim but they ask me how much I want to insure for and they charge accordingly.

hagerty

I haven't ruled out switching, thanks for the Input.

i have this car insured with grundy for 25k. haven't any issues. better find some wood to knock on so i don't jinx myself.

I've been very happy with Grundy also. They let you insure a car for an agreed upon value and like stated previously, charge accordingly.

call Heacock tell em what it's worth and send pictures to prove it and no problem

Of all things State Farm has collector car insurance.Same thing, photos of 3/4 front, 3/4 rear, interior, under hood and trunk.Agreed price of $30 K of a 64 Belevdere with a poly 318.You can also tell them that you have receipts for all work and parts(if you do).

I have American Modern from Heacock. You pick the value, send pictures. Fair price. I haven't had a claim though. I also had current examples of similar cars & prices available in case. Call Heacock.

Beautiful car!!

State Farm does have agreed value insurance for collector cars but they are priced VERY high when compared to the collector car specialty insurance companies such as Grundy, Hagerty, or the others out there. I have used Hagerty, Sneed and Gerber, and Grundy. Of the three I like Grundy best. I currently have my 32 Ford insured with them at an agreed value of $30K with no questions. All they wanted was a picture of the car. Do yourself a favor and shop around before you sign with Hagerty, there are better deals out there.

State Farm Charges liability on every vehicle, and I have heard they back track on value when a claim shows up. So, if you have multiple cars, their cost is very high. State farm covers all my assets, but not the classics.

Well I had Hagerty and switched to Classic car insurance. I have 13 vehicles insured and was saving $300 in the two i had with hagerty and I was getting better coverage with classic, they have since came back and agreed to the $45000 I asked for. Thanks guys
