Tie rods will not lock threads

The purpose of the clamps on the tie rod sleeves is to lock the thread so it will not spin or because the threads should stay in place and not jump over threads? When i complete lock the clamp the sleeve still spin on the threads.

Shot in the dark...line up slot to slot on the rods and clamps, and see if that helps.
 
Thanks for the advice! But that was my first try in the beginning. but no luck so i adjusted they in this position. (same position as the old ones, and they are stuck)
I guess the clamps are not that good quality. i might have to grind them a little or put on the old ones..
 
The clamp will lock in any position. Time for new sleeves/tie rods. If you disassemble it you will find there are damaged threads do to running with a loose clamp or rust. Working as a dealer tech 27 years I have encountered this a few times in doing alignments.

OK thanks for clarify that! The Tie rods and sleeves are brand new. The brand are ​Right Stuff Detailing...
 
Throw some salt water and dirt on it and wait 6 months, bet that will tighten them up and fix it.

I'm thinking the clamps are incorrect and need replacing or maybe just some grinding like you suggested. Good luck, Al
 
I hate to say it but many reproduction parts are crap these days, maybe that's the issue with these pieces that you bought? You can probably make them work by removing just enough metal in the slot with a good file, but I'd contact "Right Stuff" first to see what they have to say about it. Of course seeing that you live in Norway would seem to complicate matters a bit. Good luck with it!
 
is the clamp butting together, if so then you can take the nut and bolt out and grind the slot of the clamp wider to give more pinch to the sleeve. I've used a cut off wheel to do it before. That's if you don't to deal with returning the parts.
 
Thanks! i will try That. It that doesn't work i will throw on the old clamps. they look more Solid and harder steel.
 
I would bet the clamps are butting if they are new. A little trim with the cut off wheel. I love aftermarket parts,LOL

i had to change to the old clamps. it fastened straight away- the repro i tried to cut but the metal was so soft.
