66-67 charger photos

Thanks for your pictures of the 17" Magnum 500s you shared. You can see I have them on the car (center caps not yet installed on the front). Restoration shop used Yearone as the supplier. The 17" were able accommodate big enough tires (though not road tested) and still stay close to the original appearance of the car. Besides the tire size (necessary for the brakes) and the color, the only modifications are the hard to see ones (power train, suspension, brakes). I added a 67 Charger console clock to round out the interior as the car didn't originally have one.

Got this back in 1992 on partial trade for my 73 RR 340, 4sp, was going to keep for one season of fun and flip it, Oh Well, last painted in 1979, looks good yet. jh67ch_001.jpg

The car has grey primer that doen´t look the best. Pretty raw but the day it´s time for new paint maybe I should go for flat grey. As you say it brings out all the lines on the car which it has lots of :)

I've always loved the early Chargers. I have three, two of which are licensed/driven and one not running.
I bought the factory black/red interior 66 in CA in 1988 and drove it cross country to VA. 383 4 bbl car with A/T,PS, PB, A/C
The silver 67 came from AZ and is a factory 4-speed, 383 4bbl, A/C, console, PS, PB with black interior car. The car came from the factory with hub caps and not wheel covers. The pictures show three different wheel treatments, I currently have the spinners on and like them the best.
The blue 67 is a factory L code 440 Magnum car with factory A/C, PDB, PS and w/o console car. I have owned this one for 25 years and it's in the same condition now as it was in 1990. The build sheet shows this car also left the factory with just the plain small hub caps and 2:94 open rear end. Still hope to restore this rare bird one day.

Car is done at last after 12 months of restoration work! Pictures of ELL, interior, rear view and profile. Car has 6 speed but they were able to replicate the classic look with a period correct 4 speed shifter and the original console. ELL works as well. Exhaust was installed this week with 3" pipe and interior was finished late last night
Car will be in NY autoshow along with a partially finished 69 Charger April 3 through April 12
 
17's are a tad big for my taste, but that gorgeous silver body more than makes up for it!
Must be a great feeling having it all back together and ready to go once more. Nicely done!
 
Really beautiful, here's mine : 66 charger 440 4 barrel 727 auto 3.23 suregrip, converted to power front disc brakes ( was manual drums), modifications made last sommer, power disc brakes, aluminum edelbrock intake, holley 770 cfm carb, big front and rear sway bars, Grant steering wheel, b& m quicksilver shifter, msd billet distributor, american racing tto wheels 15x7 front and 15x8.5 rear with mickey thompson sportsman s / t 215-70-15 front and 295-50-15 rear, led sequential tailight, brand new tailight lens and bezel, new grille and trunk medallion, complete under dash wiring harness, downloadfile-329.jpg

I hear you on the 17" wheels. I wanted to keep the appearance all stock wherever possible but need the tire size due to the brakes. Went with four wheel Wilwood brakes which forced the larger rim size. The 6.4L will have 500ish horsepower and with the RMS suspension front and back the 17" may come in handy. I haven't driven it yet as I wa out of town when the car finished.

Beautiful car!! I may be in the minority but I love the wheels, tires and stance of this car. Could you please let us know the front and rear wheel and tire sizes and back spacing to help others who may be contemplating a change to some modern rubber?

Thanks. I think they came out well. Had to go to 17"s for the brakes. Your pictures helped with the decision to stick with the magnum 500s.
I have 1/2 an answer, the tire size, for you but will provide the full answer later with backspacing. Also added a spacer to move the back tires out.
Front tire size 245\40\17, back 285\50\17.

Looks awesome. I had to go with 18" wheels for my brakes. And I like 'em! Any pictures of the engine compartment?
