Just curious to know if anyone has ever mounted a line lock switch to a pistol grip shifter? If so can you attach some photos and what type of switch you used? Thanks....

In a conversation with member on here Average Joe he mentioned he had his "roll control switch" on the top of his pistol grip shifter. I'd like to see this too maybe you could pm him to ask

This would make an interesting post. P.O. Just taped mine onto shifter lever. Hard to use.

The top is about the best place to put it on a Pistol Grip. On a T-handle, best place is on the left end but.....the thumb is slower than the index finger.....

I am working on a prototype and l hope to have it completed next week. I will post pictures then.

You got me thinking here 70RR. When my T56 goes in I plan to have a custom milled stainless shift handle made since the shifter location will change.... Originally I wanted the 6 Speed pattern scribed on top but now I'm thinking how cool would it be to have a flip up top with a button underneath or Cooler yet to have the flip top scribed!... HRMMMMMMMMM!!!!

here's a video for Ron & Ryan Stang's Cuda that shows a pistol grip with a flip top and button

Sure miss my 71 340 Cuda.....which I replaced the original steering wheel with the smaller diameter 72 up wheel too. Dumb *** me had to sell it....and cool vid!!

When I used to bracket race my 340 Dart I used a Hurst Super Shifter with the T-handle on it instead of the ball. I put the line lock switch at the top of the shifter right under the T- handle. It worked great as I use my F-you finger to hold the switch on until I released it which of course released the front brakes. It would be a little harded because of how the pistol grip is shaped. My buddy Frank put one in a few pistol grips but he said they have to be the old style switch. He mounted it in the top finger slot you can hardly notice it. The new switches are a bit longer and will not work.

This is my first prototype. Although it is a bit rough, after a little more sanding and the right stain, it'll do the trick. 0427150959.jpg

No, it won't be an issue at all. In fact, you can't really feel the switch under your thumb. I am drilling a small hole in the very base of the shifter handle to run the wires.

Very cool! Nicely done can't wait to see a smokey burnout pic!

I can't wait to take some to post! It was very inexpensive to make, 1.50 for a piece of oak, 3.50 for the switch, 8.50 for a roll of chrome tape and some very thin speaker wire l already had. The rest was just a little time with the die grinder, grinding wheel, dremel and drill press. I do have to find just the right color stain.
