67' gtx gas tank

I have to replace the gas-tank sending/unit in my gtx.
Do I have to remove the tank or is the sending/unit accessible without tank removal ??

You don't have to drop the tank. There is a ring which locks the sender in place. Make sure the fuel level is low to avoid a gasoline bath.

Don't buy a cheap ebay sending unit. I did and it was off. Buy a Canadian made spectra unit.

And when installing the lock ring ensure its locked all the way in. It can seem like its locked in but it will need another turn. Gas will leak out if its not.

Don't toss your original lock ring, it's thicker than the aftermarket ones and will put more pressure on the gasket and seal it up better.
