69 Roadrunner wiring issue

Well,
I'm a wiring issue away from getting my rotisserie restoration project on the road! These issues always take some time to think about and it never hurts to ask for help/ideas!
I understand there are a lot of assumptions (yes, I've checked this or yes, I've checked that) to make sure nothing is over looked. Still, I welcome any thoughts. Here is what I can tell you:
Just about everything is new. All harnesses. I just installed the completely, professionally, restored dash. Everything works. The problem? The parking (running) lights won't go out.
If you un plug the dome/panel switch, the dash lights go,out but parking lights stay on (front and rear). If you un plug the headlight switch, the parking lights stay on.
I have the dash rebuilders thinking about this as well.
Again, just thought I would ask for any ideas...

i completely rewired my car from front to back with new m&h wiring. bought a wiring diagram, put on some reading glasses, and after a couple of hours everything worked, and i am by no means an electrician. nice dash by the way

It sounds like it could be a grounding issue, especially with a fresh restoration with new paint.

Double-check all grounding points to make sure that the new paint is not interfering with the path of ground. Also, the light housings themselves are a path of ground that need direct contact with the metal of the body to complete the circut. There's also a ground wire that attaches the metal tube of the steering column to the bottom of the metal dash frame which is often over-looked.

So if you have unplugged both switches at the same time the light still stay on? It seems like something is crossed somewhere in the harness. I don't see how they would get power if both switches are unplugged?

I might have it figured out. Might have had a feature connected when the dash was restored. My car didn't have the feature. I disconnected it and all seems to work. I'm going to secure everything and make sure it still works.

Windshield is next!

Instrument Specialties did it.
Flawless. Not cheap, but really nice....

Windshield in, and first drive since I started the project 11 years ago.
Ran real nice although it has a little rear end gear whine on deceleration. Looks like I need to pull the carrier and recheck the gear mesh.

I just rebuilt my rearend and had the same whine on deceleration. It turned out that the pinion nut was not tourqued enough. Good luck.

I recently bought a 1969 Plymouth Satellite Sport. It has wiring issues that I need to get straightened out. The previous owner used his own wiring for the horn, and God knows what else.
I love how your dashboard looks, as well as your RR! I wish you many miles and years of enjoying this car.
