I know someone here can appreciate this.........saving money and a job well done .......... I'm the guy who fixes everything myself, in some ways I guess I live for this crap.

Anyway, my well pump had been leaking pressure back into the well causing the pump to come on about every 20 minutes. I knew the problem was in the yard and has been on my "to do" list since the fall last year. But we had water and I kept putting it off.

Earlier this week, I was away from the house when a storm rolled through knocking out power for about 2 hours. While the power was out, all the water in the system bled back into the well. When the power came on, the pump was dry and ran for quite a while until I got home to discover no water in the house.

First step was to get the wife off my back, so I connected to the neighbors house via the garden hose...... ok, we got water......... next dig hole, pull up the well inners, and remove pump from the basement.

2 days and 800 dollars later my water situation is awesome......... fine tuned, dialed in, and running like a champ....... all new stuff.
I figure I saved myself at least 2 grand, maybe more........ :headbang:

:headbang: Good Job !! You now know the job was done correctly, and saved the $$$...:headbang:

Good job 'well' done eldubb :headbang:

Watching dog playing in the water = sweet
Saving yourself $2,000 = nice
Getting the wife of your back = Priceless :icon_mrgreen:

lol........ you know they go to full bitch mode when the water doesn't work

LOL. I sure do know that as well. It also gets us guys going and looks like that helped crank up the motivation to tackle a big job! Congratulations on getting it done and saving money! My wife has actually come to appreciate some of my handyman work since she has many times heard what other people pay for some of this work.

Now I am not sure she appreciates me recently since I have been in the garage a lot lately working on the car!

she knows better than to suggest calling a plumber :icon_fU:

WTG !!!! thats a massive job. :naka:

I love this stuff, but let me tell.........I turned 50 a couple months ago, and I feel it after a job like that........ takes me a day or 2 to recuperate......... same goes in the shop, 2 or 3 solid days of cut, grind, weld, and sand; and I need a day off......... oh, to be young again

Sadly I can't put a drain field in myself so I hired a company and they came out ripped everything up and took the rest of the week off . My wife is about to go threw the roof she called the owner of the septic company this morning and tore him a new ***. He said he would have it finished Monday (maybe) so if your free come on down to fl and help me out before I get kicked out of my own house for not fixing the drain field.

Nice job on your well nothing like saveing a few thousand dollars

Nice Job Eldubb, I, like you, detest having to pay someone for something you can do yourself. Just did my own home HVAC system.
Dog looks very happy !!!

Nice job! I'm glad you got the hole fixed up nice.. that would have kept nagging going in my house!

Well done, sir.
To show how proactively lazy I was, 16 years ago when I put my place up here on the ridge, I ran 1100' of waterline myself just so there would be no well issues in the future.
See? I predicted how much old age would hurt doing repairs on situations like yours down the road and....wait...
come to think of it, running all that line (2.5' bury) hurt like hell, too. :cussing:

So much for that bright idea...

Nice looking Pup! Congratulations on a job well done. I've caught enough of Your posts in past to know that You are in the straightening & refinishing sandbox eldubb....why not come over to Filler Secrets 101 & share some of Your take on this game. I'm always into studying others62 GP gas door build.JPG approaches....if there's a 1000 ways to skin a cat...there is a million ways to paint a car, airplane whatnot.
