Ok, so I just finished looking through a classic car for sale magazine and it looks like every single car in the magazine just came out of a barn, ran when parked 40 years ago, totally original- with options the car was never available with etc.etc.
I thought it would be fun to read/ post all of the BS lines you have heard, seen/read when you were looking for something to buy. Maybe some good stories along the same lines?

Went to an Auction often years ago in Gilbertsville, Pa. Auctioneer always ended the intro with "runs good boys" even when a belching, smoke spewing pos was pulling in. Bought a car there, one I always liked. 77 Cutlass. $2400. First car I owned with a tilt wheel, great stereo and ice cold air.

My favorite is on the ad for nearly every motocross bike;
"Never raced" ! That's a classic.

ad says: "has rust in typical spots". when in reality is a complete rust bucket

easy restoration! lol

I've heard and like the "minor damage" line or "hit only once, and not really that hard"

You all know what they looked like when I went to see! Bad! Lol
I didn't buy anything like that

It ran when it was parked.
fix it someday.jpg

Never been driven in the winter..... Yeah but where did all that rust come from.....

One careful lady owner.

This was actually printed in our local paper about 30 years ago;

...."one fastidiot owner"..... (of course that was meant to be 'fastidious') :icon_wink:

..and the old classic "...12 volt diff..."

Here you go....Only driven by an Nice old lady on Sunday to Church .....

just now...looking at a car for my wife on CL. it has a "rebuilt" title. Asked what happened...he replies "small fender bender". cause small fender benders are justification for a title to be altered.

sorta similiar but..
it runs and drives..you go to look,and the carbs not bolted on,the wirings not hooked up,
and Then its o yeah it ran,hmm last time was..12 years ago?
but it ran and drove...

100% org and untouched ready for resto or drive it how it is.....
Get there the org eng is gone the cars gutted in box's and the trans is holding up a table in the corner of the shop.

74 318 hemi with a factory 5 speed ???? (That is rare)
Also the "very rare"
Restored it's worth a million dollars
Slight body work needed (hole right side of cars destroyed.
I also like the obo (or best offer)
They say no I want or better offer witch means more then what I want
And lastly one owner since 2003... (Ummm ok)
