I replaced my stock master cylinder with a 1" bore Wilwood brand. I have Wilwood 4 wheel disks all around. All my lines, flex hoses are new.

I set the adjustable m/c rod as best I could but I think I need to shorten it more. After driving for 10 minutes or so, I can feel the brakes grabbing and slowly getting worse till the wheels lock up and I can notice the brake smell. The car does not pull to one side while this is happening. The brake pedal stays slightly depressed and cannot be pulled up. After I pull over and let it cool down for 10 minutes suddenly they are free again and the brakes work great.

I did some reading of other members having this issue and it was mentioned that if the adjustable m/c rod is too long it will cause this problem. How far away does the rod need to be from the m/c piston? I can turn it back some and do trial and error but that seems like a crazy solution.

the rod must not depress when bolting the MC to the booster or brake pedal.
I had same problem when my rod was too long
