I have a 411cui turbo charged '64 Sport Fury, after i've been out driving a bit hard and turn the car off it starts to shoot water into catchtank, but if i run the engine for a while on idle or drive slow for a while it won't shoot any water, the temp gauge is pointing straight up so ot doesn't show any overheat. It can also happen if i cruise very slow for 60 min or more but even then the temp gauge isn't showing any major overtemperature..

So i wonder if it can be the radiator cap (16psi) that can be bad? And if.. can i go with a 19psi without blowing everything skyhigh? I have steelheadgaskets if that helps..

I had heard that radiator caps are only good for a couple of years. I replace mine every couple of years as cheap insurance. 16psi should be good, you could go up in pressure only if you think your radiator can handle it. Also, make certain you have a cap designed for use with the overflow bottle.

Good advice from Badvert there.
The turbo critters I've had (Shelbys, remember?) I always let them idle a couple minutes before shutdown if I'd been spirited in my driving - Mr. Shelby himself advised me of that at the Nats way back in the mid 80's.
It allows the cooling temps to settle down and the turbo temperature to spool down and even out, he said.
Helps to prevent oil cooking/caking in the turbo.
Of course, those were water cooled turbos, too, but I imagine it's good advice anyways.
I do the same with my turbo diesel tractor - let it idle a couple minutes until I see the temp gauge settle down a bit.

I have an aftermarket alu rad don´t know the brand. And yes i let the engine idle a while before shutting it off but probably not enough.... I´ll try to change the cap and see if it helps. Thanx for quick answers!
