Does anyone know where colored headlights for a 1967 dodge coronet can be found/ purchased or if they are even street legal ? Here's a picture for example ... image.jpg

There is a paint that is used on headlights to make them amber, blue, etc, without actually changing the bulb/unit out. Bing or g--gle it, you'll find it.

Thanks for the info I had no idea it was paint. Anyway I'll have to look up the legal part

Part # H5006. You will have to cut a notch in your headlight bucket because they index differently than the headlights. The backs are screw type connections. I wired mine to a relay and use them like foglights.

Wow thanks for all the advice and pictures I just have to decide on a color now...

I had a pair I had done Amber with the Krylon stained glass yellow but they just didn't suit my car. Much cheaper than trying to find a set already done

Bought mine at Napa for $36 something dollars.

Napa part number 4412A

They have screw on connectors so just attached 6" leads with male electrical connections on end and plugged those into the stock headlight plug. Work great. On my 62 didn't have to modify headlight buckets any. Cleared just fine.

Tried to find the Krylon Stained Glass in yellow but everyone was sold out. I did find this on Amazon and it worked great.

I believe most of them on the Nostalgic race cars are painted as they just paint the cars headlights that they want colored. As for what color to me it depends on the color of the car as I have seen them in blue , red , yellow , green and orange. I am sure they have even more colors. I never considered it as I believe its not legal in Md even on the highbeams. Ron

They would be illegal here in WV under the regular inspection program, but if you get antique car tags you don't have to get it inspected.

I used Wagner fog lights and unsolder the terminals from the high beams and resolder them to the foglights so you can use the factory plug .20150705_004628.jpg

Blue or red on the front will result in a ticket in OK, guaranteed. So will a solid or flashing blue light on the rear, since LE types have those on the rear of cop cars and cop bikes.
