Friend and I did all the prep work. Sanded roof and hood down to bare metal, then epoxy primed. Removed both bumpers and prepped. Rest of the car's paint was sanded with 400, then primed. Car was then shot in the factory Toyota color in single stage acrylic urethane by another friend.......for $499 including materials!!! My GF is happy!!

Looks great. My last gallon of red paint, cost more.

The factory clear had lifted over the flat surfaces only. Therefore, the roof, hood and tops of doors were sanded to bare metal. The rest was sanded and primed. Naturally, base/clear was my first choice, but considering the year, mileage on the car and cost, single stage was chosen. For $500, there's no way I could have laid down a smoother finish than he did!! Prep was definitely a big factor in the overall finish. That's where we took our time.

Wow ! Very nice, I'll be over next week & we can do my Rr.
