63 Plymouth trunk.....which zolatone is correct?

I have had a few 63 Dodges and Plymouths and all the trunks were painted body color. I think that splatter paint is for Sheevies or Ferds or maybe International Harvester.

Different opinion splatter paint.

While my '70 road runner was body colour in the trunk, the shop manual does list the three tone gray/black finish for those who took the option. I don't know if it's the same shade as earlier years but here it is.

This trunk was definetly painted with spatter from the factory.
I'm surprised more people aren't touching up their trunk or respraying it when they paint there car?

My 63 Dodge did not have any spatter paint either. Maybe Sonny Black will chime in. His 63 Belvedere is very original.

my 63 Plymouth is body color came that way and put it back that way

O-K guys, lets see your splatter paint in your untouched unrestored survivor cars, or the untouched junkyard queens. The crew and myself had this conversation this morning and we all said there has been no splatter come through this shop. The rubber mat is grey & black and maybe that is the closest thing to splatter that we have seen. Call up a couple of the restoration shops for their 2 cents worth. Pictures--we need pictures, not specs from a 70 model.

Here are two shots of my 63 Sport Fury trunk with original liners installed. SAM_1605.jpgSAM_1606.jpg

I like those liners and how they added to the finished look of the trunk, I don't think I've seen them before. No need for it to be all bare paint except for the floor. Now I know that I want liners in my trunk too, but probably gray fuzzy stuff like in a newer car.

I have had at least 40 of these cars and still have 2 64's and none of them had body color trunk paint.....ALL WERE GRAYISH SPLATTER PAINT.

my trunk is original-grey splatter

No splatter paint in my '62 Polara 500.
Body color, cardboard inserts like santa's, light gray sound deadner inside the quarter panels.

Mopar Nationals is coming up soon and I believe Carlisle is this weekend, and I believe the answer could be at those places by looking at the show cars or asking the judges. I am surprised about this splatter paint question because My first b body was in 1967 and it was a 62 Plymouth Savoy cop car out of Mich. and have been buying them since and was a Mopar show judge for 13 years and have never seen splatter in a trunk.

I found original charts with splatter colors for 1964 & 65, but could not find trunk finish on the 1963 charts.

My '63 Sport Fury & '63 Fury are body color trunks. Original finish cardboards and mat were replaced with repros from Kramer Automotive Specialties.
