Holy $h@# header & mini starter not working out. 2nd pair of headers tried.

You guys have me second guessing using headers. Back in the day we didn't have any problems and we were using the stock starter. Yea you had to have both header and starter loose to remove and install the starter, maybe a dent or two for minor clearance issues but never what I'm seeing and hearing today, even using the smaller starter!
I'm thinking about going with shortys. I'm not running high horse power, they're cheaper and I like the look...

I don't know why - but the headers are the problem kid. For some reason it seems as though clearance has gotten to be a worse issue than it was back in the day. I used to be able to do a few gyrations and be able to change the starter myself. Now I need myself and a friend to jack things around. Go with what your heart says because headers and even the minis are a pain in the rear!

i have 2" tti's on a 440 with a mini starter. very good fit, no tubes touching or needing to be whacked anywhere.
