I was driving my 1964 Dodge Polara this morning and noticed it said "Dodge 1914-1964 50th Anniversary" in the center section of the steering wheel. Did this designate something unique or did all 1964 Dodge's have this in the center section of the steering wheel?

Nice car! Pretty sweet to have a 50th anniversary vehicle and not even know it. That interior looks pristine.

1964 was the 50th anniversary of the Dodge motor car company.
All Dodges produced that year were anniversary models.
The anniversary edition was painted anniversary gold [ZZ] with a white top. [W]
That is the way it was explained to me.

Picked this one up almost 10 years ago and its been waiting a full restoration ever since. I'll finally be starting on this one in the fall. I'm the second owner and its a factory big block, 4 speed car. Bench seats and yes, an anniversary car. Paint code ZZ all Anniversary Gold.... with exception of the replacement front fender. :icon_eek:

Man, that is one sweet '64 Polara Grubby. My favorite Dodge body style by a mile. If it has a ZZ paint code that makes it even cooler.

It actually has an XX paint code. Which is Beige/Beige.

may i ask what color your interior is @ Centerline?
i ask because the one we have is a triple zzz paint car,
which im guessing means the upper door panels are also gold? or the roof paint?
and yours shows 2 zz paint code.

love that yours is a bb 4 speed car,and a 2 door to boot....so sweet.

They all had that on the horn ring, 50th anniversary of Dodge. You could order the anniversary two tone paint.

local Young guns 64 polara anniversary edition.
318 poly, auto,w ac and triple Z paint code.
37,000 original miles.

Went on a search about and ended up here.
Just checked my 64 polara, and see in paint code it's an XZ. Came to the conclusion that must reference the white top and gold body.
This is a Canadian built car and has quite a different fender tag.

Had to revive this old thread. THere are 1964 Anniversary questions on another thread.
