I had the pleasure of checking out Devin's car - it is as sweet as it looks in pictures. A true craftsman! Larry (conv67bdere) came down with Devin and the two girls. Both Larry and Devin were great guys - thanks for checking in and meeting up! I was running around as my father-in-law showed up as well and I had to go get him, but it was to meet them - even for a short time.

I also met Bobtile and Mitch (68Chicken) both stand-up guys. It was cool to see Bob's GTX, and I am afraid I would only see the back of it if I started taking smack with him!

Of course, what I was most excited about was my car actually made it to Carlisle and back! It had maybe 15 miles on it before that, but I threw caution to the wind and drove it there. It made it without issue, even though the interior wasn't done. It was still fun!

I forgot/was too busy to take many pictures, but here are a couple at least. First, a few of the Hawk-Rod:

Hawk......... congrats on making the trip! awesome milestone
sorry I couldn't make it ..........
lookin forward to the finished product........ you know there are a couple fishing touches I'd like to address when the time comes
call me if you need anything......

I left from Burlington, NC @ 4:15 yesterday morning, got to the meet at 10:30, left at 5:20PM and got home @ 11:50 pm..795 miles driven...I was whopped, but went and hung out on the next neighbors deck until 1:30 Am winding down with a few cool ones...

The only picture i got was the superbird dropping car
I only had one day and had to be out by 3. Not nearly enough time to see everything much less take pictures. You guys that have never been just need to do it. Easier said than done, right?

In my opinion, patina and barn dust is way over rated. This car is far from being called a survivor. 3,648 miles and it's been repainted. The nose is full of flaking bondo. That being said, I hope that someone restores this car to its former glory. Leaving it like that is a damn shame.

I was there for a little over two hrs on Sat morning. Walked in gate one, started down the first road in the swap meet. Looked for Snake with no avail he wasn't there. Found a like new set of headers, cheep! Went all the way up to 68 chicken's site, shot the breeze with him awhile, always great to talk to. Then came back the next road and on the way found two, like new Eddie 600 carbs, great deal on them. Ran into a guy who sells mostly '62 parts, from near Ohio. Bought a headlight ring from him for 20 bucks. Went to the car and left. Had to be at a cookout by 4:00. It was really getting crowded by that time. Made me think about just how many people own Mopars and are looking for parts!
Here's a couple of the many cars that were in just the first two rows:

That Yellow Valiant sold for less than $5500.......It was a really nice car.
That's my SW and my 63 Valiant for sale no sale on either one SW got a lot of attention and Pictures taken. And my 66 Van in the background which I need a couple of trim pieces for.
Best Mopar show in the world as the promoters say. I agree,............I sold a lot of parts, nearly $4000 worth.

Larry (Kahn) came up from N.C to make the trip with me and my daughter then at the last minute we picked up my niece to fill up the Charger. Man what a drive (4hrs and 45 minutes) but I enjoyed the show. We met Hawk, RC and Bobtile while we were there and much to my surprise RC isn't a dick at all haha. We checked out Bobtiles drag RR and Hawks beautifully restored Limegreen RR (allot of attention to detail) and the kids got their picture taken with Luke Duke so it was fun. The thing I liked about Carlisle was how organized it was, the cars were actually grouped......

Sounds like you got to meet some awesome people and take in a lot of nice cars! Did Kahn get some wheel time? I'm sure it was an awesome weekend!

I wasn't counting but I know he logged in at least 2-3 hrs of driving. The trip went well, the only issue we had was on the way home I checked the oil and found oil spray on the driver side inner fender beside the power steering pump???? Never had that happen before but I did top off the power steering fluid so hoping I just over filled it.

Old cars.

As is commonly done on this sight - I agree 100% with RC. Sell the car to someone that will do it justice. Right now it's just a sad looking old relic.

Darn, if I knew that was your space I would have gave a shout out! I bought a set of BB headers in that area, wasn't you was it?

Patina is just an excuse to half *** things if you ask me, to each his own.

I went but didn't bring my Charger. I brought my 70' Cuda. I won 2nd Place in the 70-71 Modified and received a Celebrity pick. But the biggest thing might still be coming. I won't say right now just in case it doesn't work out.
Here is the Cuda

I had a great time. Hopefully next year I will have less running around to do and can meet more of the FBBO crew!

Hawk

It was a pleasure meeting all you guys as well. Great job on the resto Hawk. Nice work Eldubb. Also Devin's car is beautiful. Great bunch of guys!

I need to go we'll see "maybe" schedule, races sight seeing etc.,
for a trip to that area next year, especially to meet & hangout with,
some of the FBBO members
{I highly doubt it, right now thou}

I won't usually go all the way cross country for just a swap meet & car show,
even for a Mopar Meet like Carlisle...

I'll go again soon enough, work, life, family {or their health},
extra $$$ {I just usually spend it on family or my cars instead}
& even dogs, one way or other always something seems to get in the way...

Thanks for all the photos & stories guys...
