For those who only see pics of the cars attending Carlisle, here's a slightly different perspective....I took these pics on Sunday (beautiful day) from the hilltop at Carlisle and thought I'd share them here for you guys who aren't able to travel to PA for it. The entire fairgrounds area is about 80 acres...

- I was standing on a pretty steep hill in the Jeep show section of the show field for these pics, and directly in front of me and down the hill to the left was the new Challenger, Hellcat, and Charger show areas.

- The buildings you see house various things like the top tier show/for sale cars, meet & greets with celebrities (Tom Wopat from Dukes of Hazzard this year), vendors, etc...

- Between the buildings and the tree line in the distance is the vendor/swap meet area and this area runs parallel to the tree line the entire length of the property.

- The Grandstand is about in about the middle of the property, and the flat grassy show field area in front of it are where the antique/historic MOPARS are displayed. I thought that the car show turnout this year was HUGE, and the nice weekend weather (after the storms on Thursday night) sure helped with that. Foot traffic throughout the venue on both Friday and Saturday was good, but not packed like I've experienced it in years past. And most of the parts vendors I had dealings with as I searched for both 'B' and 'E' body items were willing to negotiate prices.

Thx for the pics and perspective of the show. Looks like a monstrous event.

Great pictures. By the way, for better perspective........The fairgrounds is 150 acres..........

Really? I always heard that 80 acres number, but after walking it for 2 days it sure feels like it's 150. Lol! Thanks for the correction...

Great minds think alike - I took a photo from damn near the same vantage point, and then Google Photos did its magic and stitched it together...

I saw a car club with the modern day stuff pose their cars up on the hill sunday morning and it make for a great group shot - hoping to get my club to stick around to Sunday and do the same next year...

Another favorite pic is this one - me and Tom Wopat

Lol! You sure were in almost my same exact spot, John. Nice job stitching your photos together and in getting that pic with Tom!

thanks for sharing. so how was Tom Wopat? This is the first show I've heard of him doing. Hope he's a good guy, and not an arrogant celeb. He never cane across that. Too Bad Schneider wasn't there too.

Tom was real friendly to me and my wife, and to everyone in line while we were hanging around - this was Friday and the first autograph session mind you, but even when I stopped in Building T on Sunday morning he seemed to be having a good time. I kept stopping in every once in a while because my friends General Lee was the car used as the backdrop for the autograph session.

I left my camera in my tow truck this year, theses are from pleasures past!:icon_weed:
